Irritating Things People Do in GTA Online

I'm a racer. I love racing in GTA Online. However, I'd love to race other cars than just Super cars. Why not race Sports cars? Or Sedans? Or whatever? Unless the heists will pay-out super big, I'll never be able to afford a Super car of my own and pimp it. Why not unlock the upgrades for affordable rides first? Oh well.

But no. Everyone wants to race supercars. Always. Why? Who knows.

Grief like a Bike race? Or a race with slow lumbering SUVs during a rainstorm? I like that kind of stuff every now and then.

Ah - now I get your meaning. I thought grieving you by setting up wierd gamemodes. Like bike races with lots of laps or something like that.

Shooting you while you're in a clothing store. Man is that annoying, you're never prepared for it.

Also, this guy flying a helicopter yelled at me (I don't have a headset) to get in after I was done robbing the grocery store, but he turns out to be a terrible pilot and can't evade the police while I only have pistols unlocked so far so I can't exactly shoot the chopper down, so eventually he just logs out I guess and I was forced to plummet to my death.

Last night, I found one of Simeon's high priority vehicles, took it to get resprayed and two guys were waiting outside for me, killed me and stole the car. That was fun.

People being dick in races is an obvious one.

Today i finished 2nd in the closest race i ever had online in any game. A difference of 0.015 secs doesn't happen every day and it was amazing how close and almost constantly side by side we both were for the last lap.

But of course 9 out of 10 times the other driver will just try to knock the other one out of the race in the last stretch or something like that in a situation like this. Makes the rare occasions like today all the more memorable i guess.

Maybe. Didn't stop it from being extremely frustrating.

Talking about how cool their GTA V game is when I don't have one. Some people just need a good punch in the mouth!

I was robbing a convenience store when my friend walked in and shot me in the back of the head.

It was irritating. Getting shot by my own friend! HE WAS LIKE A BROTHER TO ME AND THEN HE STABBED ME IN THE BACK!

When you run into people who take the game way too seriously.
Like, they think they're competing in some MLG Tournament or something silly like that which, let's face it, they'll never be able to even come close to that level of gameplaying.

The first time I played, somebody stole my bike while I was getting tattoos. They were nice enough to leave their car there. And I was nice enough to return it to their fucking corpse over and over again. After that I found the option to disallow anybody from stealing my owned vehicle. That didn't stop the jerks though, since they couldn't drive they'd just shoot out the tires when I was in a store. Then one time I saw some guys who were running from the cops. They looked like they needed help so I ran over to help them out, and they ran me over then shot me to death. Well, fuck it. I'm done. It's not fun to be fucked by a shitty player base over and over again. Maybe it'll continue to be so broken that everybody will leave and the only ones willing to stick around are decent people.

I got killed four times, in a row by the same guy. I quit and went to play the single game. Is that rage quit or baby quit?

Anything with the mics. No surprise the verbal abuse is especially high in this game. Why so many teeny boppers online too? Hello parents?

Had a jerk flying around the city in a fighter jet instantly shooting down any helicopter that took off. I don't know how to get anything that shoots down a jet without first getting an un-armed helicopter, so he was pretty much untouchable.

I read some of these experiences here. I found that just immediately going to a job really saves a lot of trouble and pisses off the attacker(s).

What do you expect for a game that provides the freedom to be violent? For this case, you either adapt and find ways to keep yourself alive or play in closed or single player GTA Online sessions. The world is volatile.

You can limit your chat in the interaction menu as well as perform more personal mutes.

It was alright for me, only thing is some dude tried to kill me while I was holding up a grocery store. Shot me with a pistol once then I got in cover, managed to cap his ass.

@hatking: I recommend trying to join duders who are part of the GB clans. I try to get matched with them and it always seems to work out for me, at least there's some filtering out the assholes.

A lot of these sound like exactly what I'd want out of an online GTA. Seriously.

Was this guy chasing you and blowing your car up with sticky bombs on PS3? Because if so, that was me and I'm not sorry.

i noticed on the expanded minimap a guy following me so i drove near the train yard a little trek from other cars and got out my car. as he got out of his i turned passive mode on and laughed as he stared at me with his gun pointed at me. He then tried to steal my car but I had already blocked him from doing that. While he was doing that I stole his car and slowly reversed away from him running after me. dumped it somewhere and returned to my car to drive off.

Other than that people can be assholes in the races but ive been pretty vigilant about the minimap when im in free roam unless its a GB duder

I've had very little bother in free roam mode although this may be because I spend most of my time with friends. If you're really tired of getting killed just turn on passive mode or go into a solo session, you can still do a lot of stuff in there.

Killing people. It is so boring, I would rather spend time setting up dumb stuff but there is always someone who just shoots at me and ruins any potential funny situation.

I might do that. I bought the game on PS3 - mostly because I'm afraid my 360 is on its last legs - and I have almost no friends on PSN. I feel like the game has something to offer, with the right crowd. It's just unfortunate that they couldn't manage to make it fun to play with strangers, there have been plenty of games previous that have.

One of the tooltips says that if you repeatedly demonstrate bad behavior you only get matched with other bad players, Dota style, so maybe it'll just take awhile for all the bad apples to get sorted out

I had my car parked outside Lester's house while I watched the introductory Lester cutscene. When I came out, I watched two other players get out of a car and steal mine. They then proceeded to drive it down the street to the closest gas station and blow it up.

I, of course, responded in kind by tossing a grenade at the car they drove up in (a nicely modified Infernus), and mowing down those bastard motherfuckers with every piece of ordinance I had at my disposal.

The car was insured, but it was the fucking principle of the matter.

So, today, some guy was following me around one of those giant cargo helicopters. I had a feeling he was going to make a move and try to kill me so I got out of my car to shoot him when all of sudden he used the helicopter to grab my car and fly away with it.

I'll give him some credit where it's due there...it was pretty funny.

I only race super cars so I can get upgrades for my car. That's probably a contributing factor. I'd rather race bikes, personally.

I think that high hospital bills are taking away most enjoyment from the game. Getting $2000 reduction from $20000 bank account just because somebody decided to shoot you car with missile from a fighter jet, is pretty high incentive to play on solo, closed or do just jobs.

I also hate when you kill somebody coming after you, he respawns near enough to attack you again almost right away. I have had to quit multiple times because some player just keeps coming after me despite me having killed him 4 times in a row.

I've only really ever done solo / invite only sessions or played with a group of friends. More than one person usually deters people, though if it doesn't we have multiple guns ready.

The random people either ignore me completely or try to kill me, it seems. I think I'm going to switch from my friends crew back to the GB crew the next time I'm on and try to join up with some craziness.

The worst part of GTA: Online are the Italians who have their Move camera hooked up.The sound from their game and their screaming caused a feedback loop that blew out my speakers while I was taking a shit.

Only played it once cause it seems boring, but during that time I just drove around the city smashing into anybody who was on foot. I have no regrets
