I somehow got into this huge argument talking about Far Cry 2 and if it is or is not an RPG. I called it an open-world shooter. My friends called it an RPG. Simple question, tell me your opinion and your justification.
Is Far Cry 2 an RPG?
"It has literally no RPG elements.STALKER also has artifacts, which while non-permanent, do increase your stats.
At least STALKER had advanced equipment, multiple endings, damage types, sidequests, and whatnot."
"Ya it's not an RPG at all dude. It's just a dumbed down version of Crysis."Wait, how is it a dumbed down version of crysis. Wouldn't it really be the reverse if anything?
Crysis basically is a linear fps with a path and then an amount of useless jungle in each direction.
FarCry is a true open world and there's many more options for gameplay
Okay, I got back from him and he wants points why it is not an RPG. He also wants to know who actually played and owned Far Cry.
I own it and have played it. It's not an RPG at all. There is no leveling system, character creation or even a way to change the way your character looks.
In what ways does he think it's an RPG?
"TomA said:Their both generic. Far Cry 2, drive, shoot, drive, drive, drive, shoot."Ya it's not an RPG at all dude. It's just a dumbed down version of Crysis."Wait, how is it a dumbed down version of crysis.
