You can switch between black and white. Hover over your name in the top right, and change it back to black.
I've used the White site exclusively for quite a long time. It looks great, and the Black site looks weird to me now.
I never even knew that function existed. Left it there three seconds before switching back forever. Darker backgrounds are always better on the internet just as a design sensibility for ease of the eyes.
Edit: Well the homepage isn't that bad, but the forums are still way too bright.
Reading white text on a dark background hurts my eyes, so I much prefer the white version. For some it's the opposite.. thus, there's an option.

Oh god, thank you, my GB is BACK!!!
I don't know why it just switched to white, i didn't even know there was an option.
I thought this was like part of their redesign or something.
But i'm glad i have the option, cos it is just horrible, especially the forums.
Maybe it's because the white version is now standard?
If so, bad move...

Glaringly flawed?

I thought you were writing a poem at first. lol
Lol, yeah, it kinda looks like one.
Btw, have you guys tried logging off, using Ccleaner, or a similar program, and opening GB on a new page?
That's how i got it, so it might be because the white is now the stardard version of the site.
Why is this thread getting so much attention for what is such an easy fix?
OP, locate your username in the top right and hover your mouse over it. At the bottom of the drop-down box are two capitalized A's. One is in a black font over a white background and one is in white font over a black background. This refers to how the page is displayed. Pick whichever one you want.

The reason is the same as every time someone brings this up: It turns into a serious and well thought out discussion of race and stereotypes in the United States.
By which I mean people type "Racist" without any meaningful statements.
Obviously someone didn't read the thread. The OP mentions a couple of posts above you that the situation was fixed. Why is this thread getting so much attention for what is such an easy fix?

Obviously I never read threads because that is for jerks! I just come in and yell things and expect everyone to hang on my every word.

Gamespot also has a darker version.
Yeah. The one where they hire managers who are completely unqualified for the job and said managers end up firing one of the guys that has been with them since the beginning and thus causing a mass exodus of people which leave said site in such a rotten state that it takes them years to recover.
You know, kinda like how Apple board of decided that they want a guy who used to work for a soda company run "their" company instead of the guy who founded it.

Yeah, i just don't understand you Americans...
Here in Europe, everybody's Racist, and everybody's happy.
White ppl hate black ppl, black ppl hate white ppl, and so on...
I have a kind of different approach to all this...
I'm not racist, i hate everybody equally!!!

I've maybe seen the white site once and immediately switched back. I'm pretty surprised people use it.
CAPS LOCKS IS FUN GAIS. But yes it is an option, I used the white site for a while but liked the black more.
I like my websites like the way I like to meet my women. dark and unable to see what's coming there way....
I like the way you linked to gamespot in the OP. Because we wouldn't know how to get there, otherwise!
You can alternate between white and black backgrounds by mousing over your username in the navigation bar and clicking the white or black A in the drop-down menu.
As theis issue has been resolved and there is nothing else happening here except bitching about gamespot (yawn) this thread is being locked.
