My disposable income has definitely taken a severe hit. I like to have a supply of games on the shelf for the 360, but this economy has caused me to slow down and not only shop for bargains but also for games that have actual replay value. Lately, I've begun (re-)cultivating an interest in jrpgs and returning to rpgs because these sorts of games keep me entertained for quite a few hours.
I've taken a pass on any number of new games that I would have bought, otherwise. Even though I know I would have only played them for a week or two before they became dust collectors, or fodder for gamestop. I've also been stocking up on what I consider to be the best of best for my new DSi XL; rpg's, jrpg's, board games, and some adventure titles. Fortunately, these games average out at around $20 rather than the $60+ for a 360 title.
So, anyone else feeling the pinch? And how are you dealing with it?
Is This Economy Cutting Into Your Gaming Budget?
In a way, yes, I've been doing a year behind thing when purchasing games. I never have to wait for anything and games are usually under $30.
Doubtful. There is a huge stockpile of cheap games to be had on every platform. I've got a backlog of games that could last me several years. Let's not forget Steam's weekly deals. Their holiday specials alone can keep any gamer occupied for a few years.

" @CitizenKane said:Well I am a college student living at home, so it's been fine. And I get about $300 extra from scholarships each semester, so that has sustained me, even my video game habits a good bit." I find myself doing this more often. I waited for DAO Ultimate Edition so I got everything at once but still haven't gotten around to doing anything more than dl'ing the Blood Dragon Armor for ME 2, which I only fired up for a few minutes to admire the Blood Dragon Armor. ME left me a little cold, but I am looking forward to ME 2, whenever." In a way, yes, I've been doing a year behind thing when purchasing games. Divinity II: The Dragon Knight Saga comes out next month for $39.99. It's a much revamped reissue with extra content so it looks like a keeper for rpg fans like myself.
