Most everyone that I know, knows that I am a huge video gamer, and most of them tell me that I am just wasting my time and I should just sell all of my consoles. Do the people in your life support your video gaming hobby?
Is your video game hobby supported by your friends and family?
Neither... I'm not told I should stop, but no one tells to play more.
A lot of my friends don't even know how much I play games.
At the end of the day its our own decisions what we do with our lives. I have a somewhat sucessful job and still find time to play games, go out, and see my partner. Sometimes i play games for 4 hours a day, sometimes i dont play for a few days.
If someone complains that i play games too much i remind them of everything else that i do with my life too.
My friends share my interest in video games. Although, a bunch of them are fanboys for different consoles. Which makes it interesting when we are all together. My parents don't really care. I guess the way they see it is that I could be doing much, much worse things with my time.
ReTarDedFisHy's friends don't care much, actually they play with him all the time. A little awkward when the non-gamer friends come over and see all of your 'gear' though. Usually come over for band practice, etc. It's not that ReTarDedFisHy is embarrassed, but...
Moving on, ReTarDedFisHy's family doesn't care much either; as long as he's doing well in school, continues to do extra-curricular stuff, they're fine.
My friends and family don't want me to game.
However, if I produce offspring and whatnot I will support gaming to the very end for that child.
Basically all my friends stopped playing video games around high school -- went on to bands, girls, bars, parties, etc.
I didn't actually start playing games again until a few years after college.
And, yeah, most people I know in real-life think it's a colossal waste of time, except for a few people who play a little casually.
