Great, finally a reason to watch Bonus Round.

I literally only listen to bonus round when Jeff's on. Pachter is a bonus though, I like that guy.

Keighley just seems to say stuff with zero time put into actual facts. The 360 was unveiled in May of the year it came out. The next Xbox not being announced yet isn't that weird.

It's not a bad show at all, I just always find myself more interested when Jeff is there.

Jeff makes watching the Bonus Round worthwhile since Michael Pachter alone can drive me nuts. Andy is also a pretty smart guy.

Well does anybody here, actually wanna talk about what they said? Jeff said some pretty interesting things.

Let's say that if, I actually wanted to get a PS4, what TV services and apps will I be able to get? ~ The fact is that I haven't watched real television in like 2 years now. Shows and stuff I could just get online. So, what if I actually wanted ta PlayStation Show Subscription. Will that actually get offered, or is Sony too err-scared to try and beat out Netflix?

The fact is that games don't really make Console-Providers money, but services do. So, if PS4 manages to add a whole of services and content, that might get me to look at it more. All this screen sharing stuff, and near-instant demos; aren't going to get me to use the console any more than I do now. In between the wait time when I'ma play BF4 with my friend, I want to fuck around and go find new things to do.

That's why I want PlayStation Home to come back so badly, because games and such can get a little monotonous.

Very curious why Pach seems to have such a hard on for Microsoft.

Fuck quality, fuck the consumer, fuck ethics, it's all about money.

Pachter is the type of person that cannot comprehend why Activision doesn't charge monthly for COD, why people hate EA (their games sell well after all), why anyone would be upset about microtransactions, and why Rockstar doesn't charge $100 for GTA.

The reason Pacther loves Microsoft is because they've made it acceptable to charge $60 a year for the same shit you can get everywhere else for free (Netlfix anyone?). And getting people to pay you for providing nothing worth paying for is the ultimate in capitalist success, thus the hard on.

@ll_exile_ll: Or the fact that its his job to predict trends and a company that has a better chance at being successful, so as to inform investors as to whether or not they're investment is doing well or not. His logic isn't flawed. While "gamers" may not like what he has to say, the majority of what he said in that segment was logical and probably close to being right. If Microsoft is supplying people with a multimedia machine and it does what it's supposed to then it's not really being unethical or "fucking" the consumer. It's doing what it set out to do.

I was just answering the question, not critiquing his appearance on this episode. I do think he is decent as an analyst on the business of the games of the industry, but in many Bonus Round appearances and especially Pach Attack episodes, it's very clear he comes at thing from a purely business standpoint, and doesn't know or care to know anything about the gaming community and the issues from that point of view.

Damn it, I was hoping they would be talking about sexism.

@ll_exile_ll: I kinda think he has to. Can't really bring feelings into a job about telling people how to ultimately make 1 dollar into 2 dollars. I think he does enjoy games or he wouldn't be doing the most boring and hated job in the gaming industry.

I wonder if Pachter realizes that many gamers feel like the value proposition of the consoles has changed so dramatically and now feel burned by Microsoft. Nobody really knows if there'll be a mass exodus from the Xbox brand to PS4 but at the very least he should be talking about it.

Or maybe he is, I don't know.

The way Gametrailers presents the video on their site feels obnoxious, really feels like they are taking something out of context in order to get more views. I guess more Jeff is always cool though.

Shocking! I didn't finish the watching the new demo because I got bored of all the crawling but I didn't except it to have horses and a burning forest, I guess that's what happens later in the demo then.

@expensiveham: A lot of the GT's video segments, Bonus Round and GTTV, seem to focus on the 'winning' and pitting companies/studios against each other, like 'Who won the console generation?', 'Who won E3?', 'Who won game of the show?'. It seems to be there just to create fake fanboy wars in the comments section for clicks, don't get me wrong, Bonus Round is probably the best thing on GT and their E3 coverage is great but they just like to get bogged down in feeding the trolls a little too much sometimes. I guess that's why they gave Patcher his own show, he loves to deal in hyperbole.
