Congrats to Johnny V, it couldn't happen to a better guy. It seems like a match made in heaven, too.

So basically Johnny V has been Mario this whole time.

Now I want Nintendo to start doing skits again during their Directs more than ever.

One part of me hopes Johnny V. left because of Randy Pitchford's actions, and the public's revelations, over the past year.

i read about this a few days ago- i didn't even realize he was at gearbox. good for him! though i wonder if this makes him button-it-up a bit more for the e3 couch stuff.

Good for Johnny V! This seems like a great fit for both sides, given JV's earnest childlike enthusiasm.

JV is a perfect hire at Nintendo. Gearbox (at least Pitchford) is burning out in a spectacular way atm - leaving is probably... wise....

I am so happy for the guy. He is such a weirdly beautiful man and I couldn't think of a better place for him to work at. I'm just curious as to what his role will me.

I hate it when articles try to speculate or create reasons for something instead of just reporting it, but if he was in charge or part of public relations he probably wasn't allowed to do his job given how pitchford has been going crazy on social media recently.

You got that right. I'm actually a little disappointment he even considered working there in the first place.

I think they've generally had a decent reputation over the years? I mean, I personally started having a bad feeling about them after Colonial Marines where TimeGate (who were one of my favorite budget developers with the F.E.A.R expansions and the Section 8 games behind them) got thrown under the bus for something that seemed like Gearbox's fault, but it's really only in the last 6 months or so Gearbox have really, publicly, started to sound like a hellscape, and I think Vignocci has been there longer than that.

I'm still baffled that he's been able to acquire any serious position.
