Telltale Games Jurassic Park game has just released their newest trailer, and it seems that we start out with where we left off with poor Nedry; being eaten. From the trailer, it seems that the story will focus on a group of unknown people who were on the island at the same time as the events of the movie. The gameplay seems to suggest that there will be action involved with dangers of loose Dinosaurs attacking each other and humans running around. A big difference from other Telltale games. The game is to come out on PC this April.
Fuck yes. Dinosaurs have been really under unrepresented in video games for a long time. I hope this brings them back into fad. Also, yay for what looks like a female lead! Tired of generic bald guy #5748568568568468 being the lead in everything.

Is this confirmed to be a point-and-click adventure like their Monkey Island revival? I think I've heard them say it would be something radically different. But now that I think about it, they could be talking about the more adult thematic of the the game and not about its gameplay.
I really want to like Telltale Games. I love that they're being successful with adventure games, but there's just something about the way they're oversimplifying the genre that sort of disappoints me. And also, they have HORRIBLE animators. Okay, maybe that's a bit unfair, since they probably have extremely tight budgets, but still, the animations in Back To The Future are pretty much what has kept me from even finishing the first episode. Anyway, here's to hoping this will be awesome.
@ryanwho: Technically you're part of the group of people sent to pick up the embryos from Nedry (Seinfeld's Newman) during the events of the first movie. So the first movie implied that these people were on the island (but also implied that they never left the docks--though that's an easy hole to loop). Also, during the events of the first movie, there was a fairly large number of staff on the island, including drivers, scientists, and security guards.

It's possible that it's not a point-and-click since they did say it was the most unique game they've yet made, but even if it is, I have the feeling it will be a new take on the genre. Kind of a "survival adventure", a mix of Silent Hill and Monkey Island, if you will. I sincerely doubt it will just be a typical adventure, because what's the point of a Jurassic Park game if you're not actively running and hiding from dinosaurs.

Most of their work has been in the revival of old franchises. Back to the Future and Jurassic Park are just film equivalents to game properties like Sam & Max and Monkey Island. Even the Strong Bad game fits the pattern.
looks pretty cool but as the OP said i think this would have to be more action based then the standard console point and click adventures telltales make.

I'd totally play a game where you have to run away from dinosaurs rather than fight them. If that's what this is I'd be pretty stoked, if not I'm still interested to see what Telltale does.
I don't know. I really wanted to like this game because I like TellTale but it doesn't look all that great. Obviously, all I can really look at is the presentation. The graphics look good for a TTG game but not compared to other games and the voice actors weren't all that impressive either. Maybe it was just a bad trailer...
Something about how Telltale models human characters is supremely off-putting. Pretty much the same issue I have with Bethesda, Double Fine, and BioWare. If it wasn't for Valve, I'd suspect great writing and great animation are mutually exclusive.
