So while GB is by far my favorite game site I find that I keep going for news of games to www.gamespot.com or www.ps3fanboy.com as I find that there is no actual good way to get gaming news in GB. Anyone finding that as well? also to look a t game videos/previews.
Lack of game news in Giant Bomb
Its not the lack of news that dissapoint me, its the lack of video reviews and trailers and stuff like that. The reason I liked these guys so much on GS was because of great and many video reviews (which theres only two so far) and all the video stuff like On the Spot, ect. I hope they do something like a video bombcast, because frankly, podcasts bore me.
That stuff will get here definitely, its a thing that you expect on any gaming site so of course its coming. The site is still very new(and launched called 'beta' for a reason), and before they launched this and had to go crazy with approving everyones posts and such, they just got out of E3. things will come together sooner than you think ,really, give the guys a chance to breathe.

I don't really care about getting gaming news here. Even if GB had news, it wouldn't be able to cover everything. That's why I like Gametab.com
Hey guys,
If you are still going to Gamespot for news let me just give you a tip:
You are way behind in your news.
If you really want fast news about everything gaming, the best site is Kotaku. Honestly, if all of you want to be really good informed gamers your two sites should be Giant Bomb for game specific information and awesome community and Kotaku for every news story that breaks out around the world.
From the Giantbomb FAQ:
"Well, yeah, but the point is that Giant Bomb isn't interested in the fire-hose approach to video game coverage. Our editorial team is small and experienced, and our job is to highlight the stuff that we feel is significant, either to us on a personal level, or for video games at large. That's not everything, but it's still a lot. Though, we're not real big on sports games, so don't expect too much meaningful/informed Madden coverage."

and 94 percent of the shit on that clusterfuck of a website is rumors
I threw Joystiq/Kotaku into Google Reader and it keeps me covered in terms of news.
I'm never really impressed by either but the important news trickles through so it works.
"Sentry said:LMFAO, dude N4G is like digg for gaming, it posts news from IGN, Kotaku, GameSpot, GiantBomb, Joystiq, and every other gaming site out there. So yeah, its like the place where you can get info from all other websites."Guiltyspark said:1 website you dumbass , just because it steals from kotaku and other sources doesnt make it the go all place for gaming news"Sentry said:"I go to N4G, superior then any other gaming news site lmao.

Lol, yeah I check that too.
Wikipedia explains it well (I was looking for a direct quote from Jeff, but I couldn't find one, so Wikipedia will have to do):
Unlike most video game websites, Giant Bomb will not heavily cover industry news in a business perspective. During an interview on X-play, Gerstmann commented that a lot of the video game news had become "stale".Users on Giant Bomb will have the ability to create blogs, keep track of their game collections, and add information to game entries.Additionally, message boards for the site have been confirmed, saying that "building a community of people...is a big part of what Giant Bomb is all about

"DirrtyNinja said:Jeff Gerstmann has said that the point of Giant Bomb is to offer something different, not to replace other sites."This will not be a site concentrating on gaming news. You can get that anywhere.well yeah but i sorta looked forward to only needing one site

"I go to N4G, superior then any other gaming news site lmao.lol no wonder the attitude i've seen you have you use n4g.com
"
n4g.com is the scum of the earth any thing from there is circumspect they allow any thing as news even zombie grandmas from mars boycott violent games...ect as actual news, the news postings there are fueld souly by need to get numbers and win monthly prizes and fanboyism which is why nearly all actual news there is delegated quickly to 2nd and 3rd pages and the news that maintains leads is fanboy fueld rumors and gossip.
digg is much better as a site cause atleast its content is hand picked by fanboys.

Giantbomb really dose need a news section before I make it my second favorite gaming site (sorry, Joystiq will always be # 1)
"
well if you listened to thier podcasts or watched their videos they do mention that they are not interested in over-covering the game industry. he said other game sites cover way too much news and that giantbomb.com is only interested in deliver exactly what we're interested in and what is important to us.
"But they are still going to TGS? E3? Leipzig? GDC? and more? :SIn terms of coverage yes, but not as a news team to bring you the latest and greatest. I would imagine it's going to be much like E3 where they don't break the news as it happens, but discuss afterwards in the form of bombcasts and articles on the site.
"
I also like to have one central website for gaming news and I am a bit disappointed that pre-launch coverage of games seems to be up to the players to add to the website. But I do love these forums and the features that the staff does provide; i.e. Bombcast and reviews.
