Huge hire. Congrats to Austin! Him and Alex will have some awesome critical discussions on the Beastcast.
Let's all welcome Austin Walker =D
E3 is going to be an all-out ballistic war when GBEAST travels to the West to take on OG GB with their newest fighter in their arsenal, Austin Walker, the Ontario Ranger. Can Small Business Man and the Wolf survive the conference long enough to trounce Ryckert and Tracksuit? Stay tuned.
Not familiar with your previous work, but I'm excited to see your future work! Welcome aboard, Austin!
If you aren't familiar with Austin's work I recommend you check out this (serious) and this (funny).
Welcome Austin! May your stay on this king of websites be long and preposterous... I mean prosperous.
@fobwashed: Streamfriends represent!
@bollard: on a tablet but his personal site is clockworkworlds.com and you can Google "Austin walker paste magazine" to read a bunch of his stuff. Also he does a ton of livestreams with a group called Streamfriends, archived at Streamfriends.tv .
Never heard of the dude before but excited to see what he'll bring to Giant Bomb. He seemed alright on the beastcast at least.
Also the way they announced this was kinda weird. They played it off as a joke at first on the Beastcast, then seemed to be serious about it but still I was sat wondering if they were serious or not about him being hired.
How fantastic. I had read his article on Gone Home long ago when I finished playing it and loved it. Didn't pay attention to who wrote it at the time unfortunately. Glad to have someone as observant and intuitive as he is on board. Seems like a fine fella. Congrats to him. Look forward to what he will bring to the site.
@dudeglove: And what's his view on Anime?
Welcome aboard Austin, look forward to your work.
This is incredible news. Ever since they announced there would be a new hire I was pulling for Cara or Austin. Didn't actually think either would happen. Welcome to the GB family Mr. Walker, super excited to have you around.
Congrats and welcome Austin! I've only read your Darkest Dungeon and Battlefield Hardline article, but found them both to be incredibly well-written and insightful. Honestly some of the best stuff I've read about games for some time. Extremely excited to see you boost up the editorial side of this site along with the content you'll be doing with Vinny and Alex.
