Let's think critically!

Hi there. Let's play a game: Talk about something that you hate about a game you love. A couple of examples for me are:
 

I love Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3, and it's one of my all-time favorite games, but I hate that it doesn't have spine transfers. They didn't come around until THPS4. It's not that big of a problem, but if you jump too far in a half-pipe, you could use the spine transfer button also to recover and straighten yourself out. Let's face it, though, that's really fake and bogus, but I've become so dependent on it that it creates a big of a challenge when I go back and play THPS3.
 
I love Fallout 3. It makes me hate that other games exist, because I think I could spend my whole life playing Fallout 3 and still might not see everything, but because of all the other games that come out, I keep getting distracted. Now I wonder if I'll ever in my life finish the game. Dude, plus New Vegas is coming out. Oh jeez God no!

The resplendent glory of the Total War series, and all of its many technical and conceptual problems therein.

I love games. I hate things that aren't games. Except movies. And women.

I hate how hard Disgaea was for me to pick up when I rented it in '05.  
I hate WoW's community.
I hate how badly Oblivion is aging and how it's impossible for me to play without mods anymore.
I hate how Blacklight: Tango Down has next to no players on PC.

I hate the exploitative members within the MW2 community. It makes it really hard to go back to that game. 

Persona 3- Fuuka's Voice 
System Shock 2- The second to last fucking level
Metal Gear Solid 1&2- The camera angle
Fallout 3- The color scheme of every building and area being the same.

Soul calibur isn't much fun by yourself or with players not near your level. 
 
MGS2 controls are bit stiff now day's. 
 
Plants vs Zombies the zen gardens a bit crap.  
 
fallout 3 games hard to play without pretty much full luck. 
 
Panzer Dragoon Saga, the cost, I not gonna say anything more because i spent to much on it to then go hate it. 

Fable 2- "You can do anything"..."You can do nothing" 
Fallout 3- "Go anywhere, do anything"..."Except jump up a 1 foot incline"

Eternal Darkness in regards to how some characters are just slow as hell. Oh, and the one super annoying level with the guy who has little health/sanity/magick/stamina while you have to run around a lot and use spells a lot in an environment with a lot of enemies. Damn waste of time.

Fallout 3:  weapon condition deteriorating.  I was always reluctant to use my favorite weapons because I wanted to save them until I needed them, and carrying around 4 or 5 extra copies of a weapon for spare parts strained the suspension of disbelief.

modern warfare 2, i hate how everyone camps and noobtubes everywhere. 
 
games that are fun in the beginning but change in the middle of the game.

I hate how only Activision and Ubisoft game are $60 on the PC. Get with the fuckin in-crowd guys. We get them for free on Pirate Bay.

Dead Rising.
I freakin love that game but the piss poor save system and the escort quests are horrible.
And the whole "you need to play this game over a bunch of times to get anywhere" mechanic is pretty silly IMO.
I hope the second fixes a lot of that.

I love BF:BC2 to death, but knifing is completely fucked sometimes.
 
And the fact that some people are still oblivious on how to play that game (ie: use/counter vehicles effectively) boggles my mind.

Tobal 2 tries to provide replayablility with the quest mode but unlocking more characters (who are just visual changes to existing ones) is not enough.

Fallout 3 seems to be popping up a lot here. So I guess it makes sense for me to keep things moving by mentioning it again. The ending to Fallout 3. Whenever I think back on the game the first thing that comes to my mind is that shitty, shitty ending, and it totally taints the memory. I hope whoever thought that was a good idea was fired after the games release. I don't know a single person who didn't see that plot hole immediately. Honestly, it was just the developers giving the middle finger to the player. 
 
I've also always had a problem with the explanation text in Zelda games. I don't know why they feel need to explain to me what a dungeon map is every time I get one. Or any other item. Does it assume that I'm constantly forgetting how to play the game?  Just having to hammer through two or three text boxes constantly is annoying.

 

Metal Gear Solid 1-3 Original releases - I hate the camera.

Love Dragon Age for the story and characters but hate the blandness of the environment.  It's not a graphics thing I just hate how the world is divided into fast-travel blocks like Fable.
