Well, my current set of Astro A40s just broke, the second pair I've gone through in less than 4 years and I need to replace them. I don't want to buy from Astro ever again because I'm tired of: poor quality, difficulty in getting replacement parts for, and the annual change that changes up the hardware from proprietary crap to different proprietary crap. I'm looking for a gaming headset that will work on PC, Playstation consoles, and Xbox consoles and I willing to spend a few hundred dollars. Anyone have any suggestions?

I have a set of turtle beach PX5, they are pretty nice, wireless, 7.1 surround sound, blu tooth so if your playing a game on console you can connect your phone up as well for podcasts ect.

Only complaint is 7.1 doesnt work over blu tooth so for pc im stuck with stereo until I find an adaptor.

@mc_hify: I am a big fan of my Steelseries H wireless headset. Boasts all the same features as the A50s but he build quality is better in my opinion. Also they have a hot swappable battery so you never run out of juice which is handy.

Did you also consider a combination of a decent pair of headphones + a ModMIc?
