Majora's Mask style time-travel. What would you do with it?

Let's say you've got a three day window in which you can travel back in time to the beginning of those three days, as many times as you like. However, you can only travel back during that three day window - outside of this you have absolutely no time-travel powers.

What would you do with those three days, and when would you stop going back and resume a normal timeline?

For the sake of the argument, let's say you age normally despite the time-travel, i.e. if you go back 10 times you're 30 days older.

Considering I just got let go from the best job I've ever had for a completely numbskull lack of concern (thinking I might not have locked the doors but assuming there's no way that would be possible and going to sleep) I would use it for that three day period, and I would simply go back and turn off the lights and lock the door.

I'd just run over everyone with my car over and over again.

Yea and I'm still good friends with my bosses, it's just been hard to find something else the past week and I've never been good with saving money so I'm in a situation where I might have to settle for something pretty awful to get by in the mean time. Especially considering there's that nag in the back of my head that says maybe they'll change their minds down the road.

Watch every movie, ready every book, and play every game that I have ever wanted to.

Can I pick when those 3 days take place? 'Cause I would wait for an egregious upset in sports and bet on it every single time until I had enuf monies.

@hatking: You'd have to finish those games within that 3 day time period, which would be impossible for some. You could stick your saves on a harddrive and take that back, but using Majora's Mask time travel you'd end up with a blank harddrive when you went back to the first day (like losing all your arrows but keeping the bow). Also, you'd still be aging as normal (according to the OP), so it's not like you'd have unlimited time to do that anyway.

I thought about that way too much.

@gruebacca: how would you repeating the process benefit you; the money would disappear when you went back a second time.

@teddie: I thought about this a lot too. I feel like 72 hours is more than enough time to finish most games, certainly most games I'm interested in. Books and movies wouldn't matter, because even if I didn't get through one, I could just skip to the point I left off at. For the Dragon Age Inquisitions of the world, that would require more than 72 hours to play, I could save those for when I went back to my normal, boring life, I guess. Or get some sort of save file manipulation software and recreate my save up to the point I left off.

Does it get cut off if you die? If not, is it wrong that I'd probably do some pretty terrible things as long as I can hit the reset button? Then I'll catch up on bombcasts, netflix, video games, and i would definitely try to time it around them pulling the lottery numbers so i can win big on my last go back.

@mortuss_zero: I give you about a 95% chance that whatever you consider a terrible thing would in fact be wrong to do. <3

Though if I could reset after dying, that would be an incredibly interesting experiment.

@tobbrobb: You know how it is, absolute power corrupts absolutely. As for the dying thing, it worked in Groundhogs Day, and you can't permanently die in Majora's Mask. You can always continue.

I would carefully and methodically explore all the possible outcomes of things that I could do during those 3 days, and utilize that knowledge to make the best of those 3 days and then never go back again.

I'd probably not want to do too much fancy stuff with it, although I'd definitely see if I could help out with any major incidents (stopping accidents or pre-emptively warning people about dangers). With that buffer of goodwill I'd definitely also have to sneak in some form of lottery win or other big payout, though.

I would do the most boring shit. Sleep for days. Spend all day eating. I could never harm someone, even if I could reverse time like it never happened. Surprised Bill Murray managed to pull away from being a psychopath in groundhog day.

@y2ken: I think the interesting question is what you end up doing with your final three days. You've got unlimited time to effectively research - both how to get them dollar dollar bills y'all, as well as how you could best help people from disaster. You'd then have to make some hard choices on that final three day stint - as I imagine there are an infinite amount of people you could help with the information you have.

@hurricaneivan29: It's a pretty complicated and sophisticated process involving a lot of time manipulation, message board coordination, and viral marketing. I don't want to divulge any details in case anyone uses these secrets to beat me at my own plan, but the gist is that I'd keep travelling back in time until I got it perfect.

For me, I would go back 3 days and tell my cat I loved him before he disappeared. He's over 10 years old and an outdoor cat so I assume he found a place to pass away. Sorry for being a bummer but I just needed to get some of it out.
