my local play n trade is selling the 1st mass effect for 15 bucks. Ive never played it and I really want to. So should I get it or ignore it and just play the second one?
If you got the cash why not? There's a lot of game there and you'll get a bit of back story on the characters before going into 2, and of course your character and choices will carry into 2 so yeah, I'd say it's worth playing through. I only did myself at the beginning of the year.
Why would you ignore the first and hit the second when the sequel relies heavily on events from the first game? Duder, get that game. It's awesome and will make your experience with ME2 even better.
Absolutely get it. I picked up the first game myself for about the same price and then recently Best Buy ran a deal where ME2 was $30 brand new (plus I had $10 left on a gift card). In the end I got both games for $35 plus tax. They low cost justified the purchase of the DLC for me otherwise I might have skipped that.
Definitely get it. Before ME2, I purchased the first one to play through it again and actually remember what happened, as I forgot the events of my first playthrough. Before the release of ME2, you probably could have found the game for cheaper, but absolutely go for it, at this point.
If you played and enjoyed Mass Effect 2, I'd suggest not bothering, as the sequel was a tremendous refinement and streamlining and part 1 would likely just annoy you. Just my opinion.
