So I was the guy that asked the question on how Jeff cleans his games in the podcast and sadly the answer was more or less he didn't know the correct way to do it.

So what do you guys think the best way to clean older games is? With the Retron 5 coming out I feel the need to clean all the games before I put them in it.

Older games? Idk.

Newer games? I breathe on it then wipe it on my shirt.

Get some 99% isopropyl alcohol and Q-Tips and clean the contacts. If you need to, open up the cases to do it. Clean as new in seconds.

Rubbing alcohol or lower % isopropyl like 70% would probably fine, but just go with the 99.9% so there is less water in it and it evaporates faster. I've used that stuff for years on electronics and never had an issue. Just try not to get any on plastic.

This may seem obvious, but because this kind of thing comes up, if you're cleaning with alcohol always make sure your carts are completely dry before you put them back in your system and the old "blow on the cart" method is discouraged by a lot of people because moisture in your breath can oxidise the metal contacts.
