Speaking to CVG at E3, THQ's core games VP, Danny Bilson revealed the exciting news that Metro 2034 will make up four games from the publisher to use 3D tech, which includes the original game

"We're going to be doing a 3D version of that on Metro 2034 - the sequel. And there will be some engineering costs there, but that's in our lowest cost centre in the world. Those games are unbelievably reasonable, they're built in Kiev."

I've never played the first one, but I assume that it'll be based on the book Dmitry Glukhovsky's book "Metro 2034" just like Metro 2033.

Yes! Metro 2033, both the game and the book, is fantastic. Really looking forward to this.
And is Metro 2034 translated into English yet?

Enjoyed the game greatly, since I wasn't exactly expecting much. I definitely welcome a sequel.

Nope, I'm fairly certain it's not.  Perhaps it'll be translated upon release of the game, similar to what happened with Metro 2033.

Wow that's great news for those devs and us gamers.  Metro 2033 was awesome.  Reading the book now and it looks like it'll just enrich the universe used for the games all the more.

I hope so.
I hear the book is based around Hunter. Or that other Stalker which helps Artyom destroy the Dark One's lair...

2033 kicked ass. I never got into STALKER, but from what I've heard it's gotten more and more polished with each new game. Hopefully 2033 takes a similar route.

I thought this was a joke when I read the thread title. It sounds like something you would hear on April 1st!

Awesome. I loved 2033 (the game, the book was alright, a bit too pulpy for my tastes), and a sequel that improves on the shooting mechanics while maintaining the awesome story / atmosphere / voice-acting (at least the Russian VO) would be amazing.

2033 is easily in my top 5 for the year so far.
