So, MS has purchased the Xbone domain despite the fact that Major Nelson thinks it's disrespectful.
So I guess everyone can finally stfu about the Xbone nick name. Microsoft seems okay with it.

Ehrm, they probably bought it because they don't want such a high profile name potentially being used to trash the Xbone.
Microsoft is likely buying it as a domain squatter - holding it so nobody else can have it. I have a feeling MS won't say much about it, this is just one of the few ways they can do to dissuade people from using the term. They know you can't tell the internet what to call something.
Wonder how much they had to pony up for it. No way that was still available. If so, the .com domain tradesmen failed big time.
Man people will go to any lengths for a forced meme.
There should be some kind of law against forcing the 'Xbone' on people.
@rafaelfc: I totally agree. Fanboys are touchy about it for some dumb reason. I guess that makes Major Nelson a fanboy....

I agree, that joke lost any humour by the time E3 started... if it was ever funny to begin with.

And then, y'know, they keep the partnership with Pizza Hut, and the 'hut makes a comeback with the P'XONE.
Genius !
Looking at the posts in this thread...and multiple instances of the name "Xbone" coming up since E3, I can only come to one conclusion:
A lot of people need to pull sticks out of their butts.
I can only hope that Microsoft uses this to launch its long-awaited softcore porn channel.
Partner it up with Occulus Rift!

Seeing as its purpose was to piss people off, I'd say it's spot-on.

Yup, they knew some horrible shit would end up there (Xbox parody site, porn, dick pics), and probably someone who type www.xbone.com to find Xbox One information would see some just ugly stuff. This is just damage control, this is not them accepting it. All this will do is redirect to http://www.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/meet-xbox-one
Buying a domain name doesn't mean they like it. It means they want control over it so someone else can't. If The Company buys thecompanysucks.com, that doesn't mean The Company agrees with the statement.
Nintendo once bought the rights to a pornographic Mario parody for the sole purpose of preventing its distribution.

A free P'ZONE for everyone who orders from the P'XONE

Almost there. P90X bundles a Kinect workout game with the XBO to help work off all that Pizza Hut and couch-sitting.
The P90XONE is born.
I don't see why everyone goes sexual with it. I think it's just a fun-to-say name. Like "T-Bone" but with an "X". Though I guess everyone pushing the nickname "X-Bone" is having as much trouble as George Costanza had trying to get his nickname to be "T-Bone." Boom, 15 year old sitcom reference.

For the comedy, of course.
