Yeah it kinda sucked, thought I thought Gears 3, Reach and Metal Gear all looked awesome. I was rather impressed with what Kinect could do, though none of what was shown really interested me. I rather liked the ESPN thing, even more so that I wont have to pay for it.
It started off strong, but that only lasted 10 minutes and then everyone was put to sleep by the Kinect stuff. There was no big surprise. They showed the exact same games everyone already knew about. They spent ages showing all the trivial UI shit that is faster to do with a controller.
The redesign is a bit expensive as well. It offers less than the PS3, yet it's the same price, but I guess that's why they added the 250GB HDD to trick all the clueless consumers. They charged nearly $100 for a wi-fi adapter all this time and so people are meant to think they're getting a $100 price cut with this redesign even though they're still getting ripped off. The value of a 360 still doesn't warrant it's price.
Kinect doesn't interest me in the slightest. I'm sure it'll find it's audience just fine though. I'll probably get a slim 360, my halo model could die any day (no signs of that, just worried, already got it fixed once) so a replacement couldn't hurt.
only thing worth seeing is the new xbox 360. i'm primarily a PC and PS3 gamer. but seeing the features of the new 360 (250GB, built in Wifi N,), with rumors of no RROD due to new mobo, has convinced me to finally buy it. other than that, i'm not convinced by kinect at all. it's just like nintendo's junk. telling your xbox to do things verbally is just cheesy and somewhat annoying. i can just imagine a friend or family member try to interrupt you while doing those voice commands.
@Nightlight: Haha, that'll be fun. Let me rephrase: Where the hell is Rare's interesting stuff? I want Conker, Banjo, Perfect Dark... Hell, I'd take Snake Rattle and Roll...
ESPN was the best part of the show, and really the only thing that kept Microsoft from imploding. Last years MS conference was amazing...this one was the exact opposite.
I thought it was one of the worst i've seen in a while. No surprises whatsoever. The fact that they ended their conference by announcing they'd give away 360s to the people there says a LOT about the conference.
@Diamond: Are you serious?! Other than a crytec game that we know nothing about what was there that could interest you? Kenectimals? Think of the awesomeness that was last year: Shadow Complex, Halo odst, Modern Warfare 2, Forza 3, Halo reach, L4D2, Splinter cell conviction, Crackdown 2 and Alan wake. Now think of what you saw 2 hours ago...
@themartyr: It's over. Im sure you can re-watch it on ign/gamespot/gametrailers or any other big site. I warn you though, It was a piece of shit, just watch the first half hour.
Is Microsoft running on sequels or what? The only new IP I saw was the game from Crytek. Everything else was either a sequel or a complete rip-off of previous Nintendo games. As for the new 360, to me it looks like its made out of cheap plastic and probably will look like crap when it gets dusty. Microsoft = Epic Fail!
