Minor display changes on the forums...

At first I was like, "What's wrong with my display? Is it my browser?" But then I looked closer and realized you must have just changed it. I actually am indifferent, but it does look cleaner, I will agree.
I thought it was different. For a secound on thought it was just my eyes. Its very nice and clean looking. Thumbs up!
Nooo! I hate change!
Actually, that's not so bad. I appreciate that quite a bit. It's hard to tell what forum a thread is in when it's so far away from the title.
"i must say i really dont like it.Yeah, thats what's annoying me, the letters are too small.
is it possible to have the board name underneath for the noobies and on the right again so people can read it without needing glasses"
My only suggestion would be to make the font colour for the specific Board names in which topics are posted stand out more. Perhaps give it rainbow colours or something?....its just seems the board names under the topic titles are a little too insignificant.
That being said it looks a helluva lot cleaner, organised and all round better. Great job guys.
Also, i dont think they are necessary on specific boards. Like the Wii board for example, the topics titles don't need to have "wii" below.
I don't know, I think I'll just need some time to adjust. It does seem a little less convenient to me to have the board displayed under the title. Before I could just look to the right and avoid paying attention to topics from games I didn't care about whatsoever. But all in all, it's not bad.
I just wanted to say I like it, and I also like this approach of tweaking according to Japanese ideology.
Really not liking this change. I don't know where to look. I used to use the board titles as a guide to know which topics need checking out first. Finding it differcult to navigate, as I don't want to search for the Gears 2 and LittleBigPlanet (etc) pages just so i can check if there's a new topic there, I like to reload the recent topics page every once and a while, and it's easier to see what topics are linked with the boards I'm interested in on the older style.
I have noticed the same thing that mtelford mentioned about not seeing the board names if you are logged out. Any way I like the change because I was always having a hard time figuring out what forum it was in because I was not used to looking that far to the right of the screen.
Now that I'm taking a look while I'm fully awake, there are definite criticisms to be made. The font is too small. On a 1600x1200 resolution with a 22" display, I have to squint from a foot or a foot-and-a-half away to see the name of the board, the date posted, last reply, etc. This is also because the font is so grayed out against the gray background. Also, I don't like the new look of "Newest Topics". I know it's awesome to have a huge aggregate board that acts like a board itself, but that's really not a very professional looking setup. If you're going to keep the whole board-under-title thing, maybe it would be better to add a more defining separation between the topic listing so it doesn't look so messy. At the moment, the Icons, Blog Post indicators, sub-text, etc. are all making it look incredibly cluttered and loud. The site was nice and clean before, and smooth. Now it's just a wee bit over the edge.
I do like the fundamental aspects of the design change though; I just don't think it was implemented as well as it could be (but that's OK, since you move in small bites (bytes?)).
