I had the same dilemma and went with MK. Don't really have the time to invest in Bloodborne right now, and I figured MK would be the less stressful of the two. So far, I'm having a great time with it. If you liked MK9, I think you'll like X.
Bloodborne's a little bit trickier to evaluate for you. All the Souls games maintain that sense of mystery, from the lore to the mechanics. However, there are times when you're just hitting your head against a wall, fighting with those mechanics. Not necessarily a bad thing, but I'm not sure if that's reflected in the first 30 minutes of Demon's Souls.
As far as I see, it goes like this: MKX is familiar to you, and (to me) it feels like a stronger iteration of MK9. It seems like the safer purchase in your regard.
But, if you want to invest some time into a game and really soak up the world, Bloodborne is the stronger single player experience (it seems).
