Thread created in wake of most anticipated FPS poll.
Just wondering, if you took away all the sequels like Halo, CoD, and such, which new idea/revived series you're looking forward to the most. Personally, I'm pulling for either Bulletstorm or Rage, although I would love for a brink-like quick button traversal system to be incorporated into more FPSs.
Most anticipated new/rebooted franchise FPS
Deus Ex Human Revolution looks very interesting. Well, judging by the trailers, still need to see gameplay. And Rage sounds a lot of fun. And so does Bulletstorm...ahhh I don't know what to vote for >.<

New/Rebooted" How is Rage a reboot? "
It's not a Reboot but it is New
EDIT: It's a tie between Brink and Bulletstorm for me. I'm also interested in Vanquish and Crysis 2

Brink I guess from these.
Buleltstorm looks...alright.
I just wish someone starts up Timesplitters again.
Out of that lot I'd have to say Rage. Medal of Honor could be good but it's another modern FPS in a genre that is flooded with them. XCOM looks interesting and it's being made by the guys that brought us Bioshock so it could be real good. Rage looks awesome all around with it's graphics aswell as action and I've been anticipating it ever since it was first announced.
Brink looks like it has potential, but I haven't seen enough of it and it could epicly fail, APB style. Because yes, I was actually looking forward to that game." @lilman1101 said:

On second thought, I should have added Goldeneye, but I don't think that reboot/remake makes anyone excited.
edit- And bulletstorm is definitely the most original. I love progression systems in games, idk why. I just feel accomplished I guess. That plus kick/whip action and some retarded-ass dialogue and unique looking weapons means that this game will be above average at best, awesome if it meets potential.
But I picked rage because it's open world, features an upgrade/progression system, seems to have a lot more playstyle options (focus on vehicles, tactical gunplay (turrets, flanking, etc.), or straight up tanking it) and has some neat concepts.
Fuck me, forgot all about Rage! Looks excellent, definitely wanna check that out - shame I probably won't have a good enough PC to run it, though. Brink also looks pretty fantastic, I'd like to see more o' dat. That said, BulletStorm looks like Serious Sam/Painkiller on speed, can't wait for it haha. I now realise that my post doesn't help a lot... basically I'm fucking excited.
Isn't this thread basically the same thing? Future FPS you are looking forward to the most?
Anyway, probably Bulletstorm or Rage although I'm not all that hyped by either. Actually, I saw a game play video of the next Red Faction game, Armageddon, which is my current "hotness" in the FPS genre. I don't think it fits the subject as new (IP?) or reboot.

All of these look fantastic to me. Bulletstorm I personal favorite from what I've seen so far but Deus Ex looks pretty awesome too. I never played the old X-Com games so that might as well be a new series to me, and I haven't seen anything for Rage but everyone is raving about how amazing it looks.
I don't know. It's a toss-up between Rage and Xcom.
Actually, out of all the games listed there, the only one I'm not too keen on is Bulletstorm.
What is it? Unreal Tournament meets Painkiller meets The Club? None of those games really did much for me, so I don't imagine a combo will get me excited. Still, I'm not totally writing it off. Here's hoping that they put out a demo at some point.

GI's cover article about getting racing sponsorships sounds equally interesting, and the best part is that, from what I can remember, the game doesn't force you to do any of the racing at all. You can choose which missions to play and how to play them, and as far as I know you can even complete most of them by just being a wheelman/shooting from your car.
