Most satisfying pistol game?

What games would you say have the most satisfying...um...pistol/revolver gameplay?
Singleplayer/multiplayer, whatever.
Like a game where you might just prefer using a pistol because it's fun.
From watching the ER, I'd say it's not fun to use pistols in Deadly Premonition.

Halo 1

Halo 1's pistol is the best pistol I've ever used. I would consciously go through levels using it and be sad when it's out of ammo and I had to switch to my Rocket Lawnchair. 
 
Apparently ODST brought the ol' pistol back, I have yet to play ODST though.

Goldeneye

Every Hitman game made. And both Rainbow Six Vegas games.

Awesome pistols.Revolvers were especially awesome.

Hitman: Bloodmoney's got a pretty sweetass silenced pistol as well. *thwip*

I was a beast with the pistol in Halo 1. Let everyone else grab the sniper rifle and rocket launcher. I didn't need it.

Rainbow Six Vegas 2 had a sweet Revolver. 

Counter-Strike; Desert Eagle.

Splinter Cell: Conviction makes it clear that the pistol is the best choice all around.
 
Wanted: Weapons of Fate, while not a great game made the pistol the only weapon you used.
 
Dead Space is best while using the Plasma Cutter - that games pistol.
 
I used the pistol in both Mass Effect games most of the time.
 
Resident Evil 4 really rewarded expert use of a pistol, especially a Magnum.
 
Borderlands made pistols pretty attractive, even in a game with millions of guns.
 
When a game gets it right and makes the pistol an accurate weapon that is fast and precise, it's when the pistol ends up being the best weapon in the game.

MK23 in Rainbow Six Vegas 2.  Best damn pistol ever!

My Corrosive revolver in Borderlands is a whole load of giggles, 'specially as I'm playing Mordecai with the gunslinger tree specced out.

Red Dead Redemption. Well, I really don't know yet, but all the trailers make the pistol, and all other guns for that matter, seem soooo satisfying to blow people away with.

I like the scoped revolver in Fallout 3.

I liked pistols only servers in Raven Shield.

Max Payne and Red Dead Revolver come to mind. I'm sure there's something recent I'm forgetting.

Halo: Combat Evolved is the only legitimate answer.

No pistol compares to the Halo 1 pistol

The magnum in Half-Life was really good, it just looked so shiny and compared to the pea shooter default pistol it was damn satisfying, the pistol in far cry had a nice powerful sound to it as well.

Sin Episode 1 had a beast of a pistol, but RE4 was great, does Dead Space count?

none games come to mind but i liked the pistol in the demo of "the darkness" it was pretty sweet.
