most underrated game series
What game series do u think is disturbingly overlooked
im not sure how well known or liked they are but for me its the sly series man i had a lot of fun with those games
" Legacy of Kain..being an actual series of games. "I agree, the first soul reaver game was amazing. I would also say the Hitman series. Apart from the first game the rest have been great games.
The Alone in the Dark and Runaway franchises.
Alone in the Dark: while I haven't played all the games (I haven't played Alone in the Dark: New Nightmare, although I own it) I say it is very good. The gameplay in the last game is a bit archaic, still isn't survival horror a genre stuck in past conventions? A awesome horror franchise.
Runaway: the whole franchise is very humorous and interesting. Good plot and characters. A must play for point and click fans. The only true flaw is the almost irrational nature of many of the puzzles.
Whoa whoa whoa wait a minute, I think you took someones avatar there buddy. Except mines currently the Christmas version.
But with whats been mentioned so far I'd have to agree with Sly Cooper.
" @Unknown_Pleasures said:Well I assume you for one, and I really enjoyed the series as well" overlooked =/= underrated....the most overlooked game series IMO is Otogi, but its not underrated cause critics liked the game. "Well, yeah, but who even liked that game? "
" @Otogi said:Nah brah, that games waz ballz" @Unknown_Pleasures said:Well I assume you for one, and I really enjoyed the series as well "" overlooked =/= underrated....the most overlooked game series IMO is Otogi, but its not underrated cause critics liked the game. Actually, yeah, I really did and it seems FROM SOFTWARE hasn't forgotten about it either, considering 3D Dot Heroes. And for the lowest selling game on the Xbox that can't say does anything badly, it fits this pretty well.
Those Wallace and Gromit Telltale games were pretty awesome, for some reason people didn't really care for them though.
Also, the Jet Grind Radio games.
" Those Wallace and Gromit Telltale games were pretty awesome, for some reason people didn't really care for them though. "If you the ones by Telltale Games, I've always felt the same way. I wouldn't say awesome, but most of them were pretty good games.
" Siphon Filter: it had an amazing story, great voice acting, excellent combat and stealth mechanics, and some top-notch sequential continuity. "The first two games I loved. I remember playing the first game and finding out that you could kill a "boss" character with just a single head shot. I found that shocking.

" Resident Evil. Before RE4 came out that is. "I have to disagree with you on that one. Even though a lot of flack was given to the game for its tank like controls, it still did very will critically and commercially.
MONSTER HUNTERARARARARARARARRARARARAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously, like best game ever. How many RPGs have you played where instead of your character leveling up, YOU have to level up.
I would have to agree with the Sly series. Sly 2 is the "Secret Best" (to steal a term) game on PS2 and one of the most amazing sequels ever in terms of improving and expanding on the first game. Recently picked up The Sly Collection and was having a blast playing through the first game again, looks surprisingly good for an up-rezed 2002 game.
Since many have mentioned that already maybe I will pick something at random like The Longest Journey. The first game is a great mix of fantasy and sci-fi with a great story and a great heroine. The second game isn't quite as good, looses a bit becoming console friendly but still still totally worth a look for those who enjoyed the first game.

"I'm a huge fan of the Longest Journey but I don't think we can call the series underrated. Those games got a lot of press recognition at the time, specially in a period when the genre was thought to be dead and the first one sold (and continues to sell) well. It's more like a forgotten series right now, as Funcom decided to focus almost all of their energy to make MMO's nobody plays and Dreamfall Chapters is pretty much vaporware.
