Game: Probably Resident Evil 4 the first time I played it. Bitores Mendez's "eye" freaked me out.

Movie: Either The Thing or Rambo.

Look at the screenshots and videos for Prototype. That will suffice.

Games: Gears Of War 2, or maybe Fallout 3. No, wait, nevermind, nothing trumps Ninja Gaiden 2. Sweet mother mary, that game has so much red in it.

Movies: The Thing (1980 version)

Dead Space for me. Watching that saw blade grind up monsters, and the accompanying sound it made....awesome.

The Evil Dead movies tie for most amount of blood that I've seen.

Good shit, mang. Then again, that's not disgusting. It's hilarious. As far as games, probably Fallout 3. My brother just got a 37'' HDTV, and we were checking that out on it. I didn't know you could see the eyeballs of a person's head fall out when it explodes.

Maybe that's why it's called "FallOut" lol omg.

No? Alright, that joke was pretty weak.

Sof and sof2 for sure. You could cut off everyones body parts once they were dead on the ground, and even carve out their guts.

Definitely Soldier of Fortune, until Dead Space came along.  In a way, Condemned was pretty violent.  And the original manhunt.  On the PS2.

I mostly stay away from violent movies.

Yeah same reason why I vote for Fallout 3.

But for Movie; there's a really realistic (but still fake) snuff film called: Flower of Flesh and Blood.

Freaked me out til I remembered it was fake.

I too am gonna go with Manhunt. Why? Well, because the violence in that game just feels so much more real and disturbing. I just finished playing Dead Space, and sure, there's a whole of a lot of violence and gore in it, but it never bothered me. Manhunt was so graphic and demented that I simply had to stop playing it.

Realistically, the Grand Theft Auto series is pretty brutal, considering it is actual realistic violence.

Postal  2 easily.  It was a game that was made just for brutality.  Like not even for gameplay other than just acting out these experiences.

I love that game. I got that as a review copy way back when I used to run a website and it blew me away. I used to get so much shovelware and I shoved that game in expecting the "usual" but it turned out so fun!

The most violent games are the original Manhunt, the original Soldier of Fortune, and of course Postal 2.

In terms of graphical violence, these games kick every other game mentioned in this thread in the guts.

Not that that makes them good, though.

Most violent game, in my opinion, is Harvester. But I don't know if that constitutes being a game or not...

And for my most violent movie, I would have to say Braindead.

Depends for example gears has crazy over the top gore but it's rather "fantasy" whereas gta for example isn't so bloody but a lot more lifelike

Manhunt. By a country mile.

Fallout/Dead Space don't come close to the unsettling gore in that game. Shooting the limbs off 1000 Necromorphs doesn't compare to stabbing a guy in the eyes with a glass shard while he's screaming.
