I got the red ring of death so you'd think 3 year warranty apparently not .
The MFR date is 2007-11-01 but customer service tells me my 360 is
not covered under warranty that it will be $99.99 fuck them.
This is my 3rd 360 and never will i buy anything that has to do with Microsoft.
MS will not repair my 360
As well as the dreaded red ring, you also have the dreaded refusal to repair under warranty conditions. Oh the woe of being a 360 owner.
Good luck mate, badger the fuckers if need be.
United ftw!
"It's a no go boys the supervisor tells me the 3 year warranty covers only from the original date of purchase .So my replacements 360 is not covered under the 3 year warranty ."But there is no problem, because...that's less than 3 years. You said it was manufactured in Nov. 2007, so, assuming you did not purchase it before it was manufactured somehow, it should still be covered. I got one in May 2006 and just got it repaired with no problems.
Sorry to hear about your problems. I can't really advise as I've never been in the same situation myself.
However, United! Think we'll make it past Porto next week?

I never knew you were a fellow United fan, it's nice to know there are a few of us here.
Yeah, definitely, I don't think Porto will pose too much problem, not this season. As with any game at this stage, it will be tight, but our players have a wealth of experience and skill all over the pitch to deal with them.
"Just call back again, my 360 is older than that and had no problem getting it repaired back in November."4 call to them today i'm done.

"get2sammyb said:Yeah, I think there are a few of us around. I'm really cautious of the Porto game, them pulling one back in the last few minutes the other night is really worrying. At the end of the day we have to straight up beat them on their own grass. I think if we can keep a clean sheet then we can definitely put a goal or two past them, but they looked like a very good attacking side the other night, and our defence has been terrible without either Ferdinand or Vidic. I'm not quite sure of Ferdinand's status at the moment. Hopefully he'll be match fit."Sorry to hear about your problems. The whole team is looking tired just now.
Edit: <sorry for slight thread derail>.
"Warfare said:I believe the problem is that he's had his xbox replaced already a couple times, and each time it's replaced, the original warranty is voided, and I believe it's replaced with a one-year warranty. So if he had it replaced over a year ago, then he would not be able to get another replacement under warranty. I think that's pretty standard for warranties on electronics. It sucks dude, but I'm pretty sure they mention that when they replace your system, if not verbally, then somewhere in the paperwork."It's a no go boys the supervisor tells me the 3 year warranty covers only from the original date of purchase .So my replacements 360 is not covered under the 3 year warranty ."But there is no problem, because...that's less than 3 years. 1.3 red lights doesn't all ways mean RROD it could be e74 which is covered under a 1 year warrenty and not a 3 year warrenty.
2.They cannot JUST REFUSE to repair your console which it seems like they are doing from your topic title.
3.Call them up go through the process register your console online...ect
4.complain and they will repair it for cheaper.
Replacement consoles get a 1 year warrenty they are still covered under the 3 year rrod warrenty though.
I'm sure replacements are covered by RROD for the 3 years - it has a shorter warranty for other problems though. My friend had a faulty HDD drive in his replacement which he had had for over a year and he reported it as having a HDD error and "intermittant RROD" (which it didn't have) and it all got replaced for free.
Just explain to them that this is a fault with -their replacement- and it is not your obligation to pay for their mistakem, especially one so common as the RROD.
Question is, have you had your refurb 360 for more than a year?
Also, the topic of this thread is misleading.
"Seriously, just get a PS3."While I concur, it doesn't really help the OP's cause -- either way he's going to have lost money on a system that's broken, which isn't neccessarily his fault.
"Kou_Leifoh said:Well...He could lose money on getting his 360 repair for the fourth time, or he spent some cash on getting a PS3"Seriously, just get a PS3."While I concur, it doesn't really help the OP's cause -- either way he's going to have lost money on a system that's broken, which isn't neccessarily his fault."
hmmm then i was wrong about the 3 year but the systems do get a 1 year warrenty and 90 day so you should be clear if its under a year old.
Please tell me you didn't get that message and simply say ok and hung up. I got that exact response from them and regardless of whether I was covered or not I let off on them. No way are you making me pay for a fault with your hardware that you aren't even sure of the cause or source. It happened cause I bought your damn machine and that's what I told them plus more. Got put on hold so they could "talk to the manager" and a few minutes later, lo and behold, I was in fact covered and they would repair my 360 free of charge. Don't let them play you for a puppet. Call them back and tell them exactly what you're thinking.
I have had to give MS 200 dollars now in repairs...one console melted a disc while I was playing it. Another just keep freezing but wouldnt red ring.
Paying them didnt both me...I use my 360 all the time...100 bucks for repair isnt bad.
To all you people thinking the PS3 is flawless. I agree its got a much better rate but it still is consumer electronics. My PS3 had nonworking USB ports when I bought it. So I had to send it back. Free to fix though.

Call back again and again. I know it i annoying, but half of the fucking operators have no clue what they are taking about. Some tell you the craziest stuff that makes no sense... I don't know if they just don't care or if they are really actually idiots?
