My Xbox has been sat unplugged dusty as fuck since a month after I bought it. Same with the wii. Most of my games I play on my PC and then the ones that don't come to PC or the PC port is awful I get for my PS3.
Multiconsole owners, how do you divide up your gaming time?
@ikabubu said:What about trophies yo?Nailed it.Whatever I feel like playing, really.
As far as picking which version to get, I usually get whichever version is superior or has any exclusive content. If they're identical, I usually go for the PS3 version because I think those cases look better than the lime-green 360 ones (plus I hate that eco-case shit) and because BDs are less likely to scratch than DVDs (and I don't like multiple-disk games).
Over this generation, I'd say I've split time between my 360 and ps3 about 95% to 5%. I've played 74 games on my 360 (according to GB) and 4 games on ps3 (DS, UC, UC2, HR), I don't really see that changing anytime soon (as I'm only interested in maybe a handful of ps3 games and use it mostly as a blu-ray player). If we are talking recently, I'd say 60 to 40 ps3 over 360, I've been playing Demon's Souls exclusively for like a week straight (maybe 20 hours in) before L.A. Noire (which I'm about 10 hours into) came out.
PC for everything except Street Fighter, which I play on my PS3. Most of my friends used to be on the 360, but since they all moved over to PS3 except one, I basically only play PS3 unless we decide that "hey it's about time we played some Halo" or such. I only have 4 games for the PS3 though (MVC3, SSF4, Uncharted 1&2) which I have been intent on fixing, but to be honest I dislike the controller a lot, which is why I bought a fightstick and basically only play fighting games on it today.
I have a 3DS and a PSP too, and I'm currently on a 3DS binge while playing through Pokémon White and getting some SSFIV3D in. I really dislike the online in that, so I mostly dick around in training or arcade mode.
Is it bad that I forgot about the Wii? The nunchuk hurts my wrist when I use it so the only game I'd ever play on that is SSBB and I don't even own that. Hell, not even my sisters use the Wii.
So basically:
40% PC
40% PS3
15% handhelds
5% 360
I used to play a whole lot more 360, back when Gears 1 and Halo 3 was the hot shit but after CoD4 there hasn't really been anything on the 360 that's grabbed me.
Damn, Gears and Halo 3 were the shit. I think I'mma go play them.
360 - multiplatform and exclusives
PS3 - exclusives only
PC - steam/wow
in all honesty my PS3 hardly gets used for gaming even though i bought it first, i am very picky game player i don't really play downloadable titles and i don't play everything that comes out for a system even the 360, but i do spend 98% of my time on my 360.
PC: Steam/Retail/Blizzard games = 90% of game time
I almost exclusively play 360. My PC is pretty good, but with money being tight I haven't played as much. The PS3 barely gets touched, I'm thinking about turning it on for the free games though.
My PS3 collects dust. My Wii usually collects dust unless all of a sudden I'm trying to do Wii Active for a month or so.
PC/MAC 90% of the time, PS3 9% of the time, 360 1% of the time, Wii .001% of the time.
ratio might be off by .001%
I mostly PC game when I have the time, right now my graphics card is dead so i'll probably use my PS3 tomorrow to play Dead Space 2. My Wii is at my parent's house, they and my sister use it from time to time; however when I move and setup a TV in my living room, i'll have a kinect and Wii for guests. PS3 will stay in my room though. I've only used my 360 for Alan Wake, Splinter Cell, Forza, Gears 1 and I started Red Dead but never went back to it. I sort of regret my 360 purchase and my Wii was free from my credit card rewards points.
I have all three consoles.
I'd say that I use the 360 the majority of the time. (60%)
-I have the most games for it
-I like the controllers better
-Online is better/It's what my friends play multiplayer (MW2, Halo, Forza, Assassin's Creed: BH, Portal 2 Co-OP)
-I love the Live Arcade games (Super Meat Boy, 'Splosion Man, Geometry Wars, Pacman CE DX)
Then I use my PS3 next most (30%)
-Amazing exclusive games (Uncharted)
-BluRay Player (It's my preferred movie player)
-I'm starting to buy more multiplatform games for it when it's better or has extra stuff (BioShock, LA Noir)
The Wii I use occasionally when there's a good game. (Super Mario Galaxy, Dead Space Extraction, Kirby's Epic Yarn)(10%)
80% of my gaming is done on the 360, 20% on the PS3.
90% of my media watching is done on the PS3, 10% on the 360 (usually just when the 360 is already on).
I play the PS3 and 360 equally and the PC a little bit less (and I literally mean a little bit). Call me crazy, but I often get games on all systems. Well, usually one on one console, then on the PC. So Dead Space 2 I have on PS3, but I'll probably be getting it on PC at some point, and I have Crysis 2 on 360 (though my brother is playing it on PS3 'cause we borrowed it from my friend), and we'll probably get it on PC soon. At times I and one of my brothers gets a certain game on all systems. A few examples would be Bioshock, RE4, and Duke Nukem. Yeahhhh, I have a lot of games.
I make no decision to play one or the other and spread the time out between my PS3 and Xbox 360. Whatever games are interesting to me at the moment, then I use whatever system I bought them for -- I often go a month or longer without touching one or the other.
I use my PS3 for everything, and my Wii just kind of sits there. When I get a job again, I will pick up more Wii games. However, I will mostly divide my time by just playing what I feel like. That will dictate which console I play at which time.
My Xbox is used for most multiplatform games and dvds (I rewatch series of television shows I have constantly). I buy probably 80% of my games for it.
The Playstation 3 is for Blu Ray movies (very cheap player) and games that are exclusive to the console. I buy some multiplatform games for it (L.A. Noire being one) and don't use it much at all really.
On the PC, I buy games that are PC-exclusive or run better/have more features on that version. I also buy tons of Steam games on sale, playing those when I feel up to it.
My Playstation 2 still gets some use as I pick up some really cheap PS2 games from Gamestop sometimes. I like RPG's and still have plenty to play on it.
I have all consoles but 90% of my gaming time is spent on PC or PSP. If I must play a game on a traditional console I will always choose my 360 though because I think the dualshock is the most uncomfortable controller I have held since the Jaguar. Really, the only games I play on my PS3 are the exclusives, but even then the only exclusive I really play on the thing is Disgaea 3.
I have a 360, PS3, Wii and a passable PC.
All PS3 all the time unless there's a significant difference in quality. Then I probably don't buy the game >_>
Most of the people I know are on PS3, if my 360 died I wouldn't be in a rush to replace it unlike the PS3, I prefer trophies to achievements, I don't care for most of the 360's exclusives and I'll throw in the pay-to-play vs. free thing even though I've gotten three years of XBL Gold for free within the past year.
I have to admit, I almost have to go out of my way to get games for my PS3. Usually, it's exclusively single player (multi-platform) stuff for PS3 and anything I plan to play a good amount of online multi-player goes to the 360.
I play on PC every now and again, mostly Valve games - TF2, CS:S, L4D etc. On consoles most of my gaming is done on the 360. I play my PS3 for Sony exclusives and multiplatform games that perform better on it than the 360. I play the Wii strictly for Nintendo exclusives.
Edit: I also favour the PS3 for fighting games as I have a stick for it. Even then, when I feel like just using a controller I much prefer the PS3's dpad to the 360's.
I base it on either what game I just bought and/or whatever I'm in the mood to play. I own all three systems and have been playing the hell out of my Wii. But I put that on hold to play through LA Noire. I don't have a specific schedule.
This is off topic but when I first read this title I got the image of person dividing up time between consoles looking like a parent diving up time between kids. As if we as owners of the consoles have a responsibility to play those consoles on a regular basis. Thankfully that's not true. If it were, my Colecovsion quota would be way overdue.
