I feel like I keep wasting money on all these Steam games though most I have gotten on some sort of sale. They are games that I know I want to play but never get around to because I get another game on a sale or something big comes out. I like to think that I have a lot of games on Steam but in reality lots of people, even on my friends list, blow me away. I hope this means that I can reach my goal.

So I have gathered a list of all the games that I never got around to playing. It is my goal to finish every game on this list before buying any more games. This way I wont need to play plumber on my shit clogged games library. Im not saying the games are shit... well I wouldn't actually know now would I? On my list I have put in every linear story progression game. Nothing open ended like Hearts of Iron 3. I have also left out stupid little arcade games like Alien Breed 2 and Rock of Ages, and games I am totally not interested in like Condition Zero.

The games I will be playing:

  1. Amnesia: The Dark Descent
  2. Batman: Arkham City (there is some catwoman crap and DLC I need to finish)
  3. Call of Cthulhu
  4. Dark Messiah of Might and Magic
  5. EYE Divine Cybermancy
  6. Fallout: New Vegas
  7. Episodes from Liberty City
  8. Half Life
  9. Left 4 Dead 2
  10. Legend of Grimrock
  11. Painkiller Black Edition
  12. Painkiller Overdose
  13. RAGE
  14. Return to Castle Wolfenstein
  15. Stalker Call of Pripyat
  16. Serious Sam 3
  17. Shank
  18. Chaos Theory
  19. Space Marine
  20. World in Conflict

It isn't too many games but I think they will take a while to beat. I feel like I have gotten my moneys worth out of none of them with the exception of Batman. I have other games on my list like this but they either dont have a story (Hearts of Iron 3, Crusaders Kings 2) are multiplayer only or are frustrating, hard ass games like Super Meat Boy and Bit.Trip Runner.

After I finish one, or two, or three games I will write a follow-up blog with a short review of each.

No more new games for me. No Borderlands 2. No X-Com. No Dishonored. Fuck all new games coming out. I need to finish what I started.

That sucks, 'cause you have a bunch of shitty games and X-Com and Dishonored look awesome.

But on a more serious note, enjoy L4D2 and Amnesia. I quit every other game I had on that list because I didn't care for them. Well, Grimrock's all right, but it's not my style to ever beat that game. Maybe three summers from now or something. And I'm in the middle of a New Vegas playthrough that I might not beat but I'm definitely enjoying.

Chaos Theory, as in Splinter Cell? That's widely regarded as one of the greatest stealth games ever made, and it's one of my personal favorites. Try and find a buddy to play co-op with, that mode has it's own storyline and missions along with custom moves like the human ladder and tomoe nage. I'd advise playing Serious Sam 3 in online co-op, it's way more fun than playing by yourself.

@JackOhara: I have played a lot of co-op in it. I could take it off my list but I want to beat the single player.

Pro-Tip: Try to start with one of the longer games like a RPG and keep the short/beat in 1-2 sitting games like Space Marine as a pallet cleanser in-between. Every time I try to dig into my back log I get burnt out on the time commitment. I'm an RPG guy so most of my back log is 40-80 hour RPGs and playing them back to back can be crazy or just playing any two long games back to back.

Number 6 will take you a bit, but the rest are far shorter

Edit: Good Luck
