- a Percy Jackson Last Olympian Video game
- A Rise of the Planet of the Apes video game
- a Thundercats video game
What ones would you want?
What ones would you want?
1. A Dr. Strange exclusive videogame might be cool, but then I'm a Dr.Strange fan who just wants more good Dr.Strange whatever the format.
2. I'd love to see a videogame based on a Sam Peckinpah movie, I was kinda expecting Red Dead Redemption to have some Wild Bunch/ Bring me the Head of Alfredo Garcia influences but all I can remember in that vein was a Gattling gun sequence and the occasional dark humor. Maybe a straight up adaptation would be cool.
3. A Kingdom Hearts-type game but with Cartoon Network characters and Dragon Quest characters. For me it could just be mostly Hanna Barbera's creations with Gennedy Tartakovsky's characters. Why the fuck not.
1. A huge adventure game based on Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Alternately? Some kind of adventure game based on Charlie Huston's novels - any of 'em.
2. The Sean Bean Sharpe novels - this could also qualify as number 1, but it wouldn't feel right without Sean Bean's likness.
3. Toxic Crusaders!
Book: Lolita: The game
Movie: Pretty Baby: The Game
Cartoon: Davey and Goliath: The Game...that's the most screwed up choice if you ask me.
Book) The Dragon Prince/Star trilogies - Politics, battles, magic and dragons. Yes please.
Movie) The Tournament - The best assassin's world wide duke it out in a unknowing town, hunting each other and each bringing special skills to the table.
Cartoon: Legend of Korra - I love this series' setting and Korra is probably my favorite cartoon character ever, she's so bad ass.
Too easy:
1. Hyperion
2. Logan's Run
3. Star Blazers
Book - @Yummylee said:
- Book: American Psycho, though preferably starring the more darkly humorous Bateman from the movie rather than the eye-melting, tongue cutting, cannibalistic, necrophiliac monster in the book. Would most work as an Adventure game.
- Movie: A History of Violence. A brawler, with dialogue trees and stuff. Also it'll make you feel bad when you're pulverising a mobster's nose.
- Cartoon: Would love to see a Batman Beyond game given the same treatment as the Arkham games.
Man, I was totally typing Batman Beyond when I saw you said it first. I love that show.
The Hobbit, The Hobbit, annnnnnnd The Hobbit. But they all have to be awesome games, with different formulas. So one would be like Darksiders but instead of dark gritty zelda, it'd be.... Zelda with the names changed around. And another would be a really good direct control adventure game with some light combat. The other would be a party based RPG. They would each stick tightly to the source material, respectively (so one would follow the movie[s] tightly, another the book, and another still the cartoon {whatever man, it's a cartoon! it counts!}).
But really it'd be more like Serenity, Treasure Planet, and The Hobbit. Serenity would be a very story/atmosphere heavy shooter sort of game with a somewhat light focus on shooting. Treasure Planet would be like linear more refined Assassin's Creed (in that there would be a lot of kind of extra mechanics, and it'd have some good fluid movement and simple combat). The Hobbit would be the adventure game idea from above, keeping faithful to the source material, which in this case would be the book.

Cartoons? I don't know. I'm going to interpret that as "comic strip" and say Calvin and Hobbes.
Man if the art and writing was right, a Calvin and Hobbes game would be fucking amazing. That'd be an adventure game I'd play so many times.

I was hoping that the new Thundercats reboot would lead to a tie-in game at the very least, but alas it was not to be. Thundercats is fucking perfect as a concept for a video game - we just have to wait until someone of power realizes that.
Book: The Silmarillion
Movie: Team America
Cartoon: The Pirates of Dark Water.
I would settle for ANYTHING involving the Pirates of Dark Water.
Book? Er... I read but I can't think of any single book in particular that I want in video game form.
Movie? I think Jason Bourne could lend himself well to a video game. I know there's been one that actually wasn't too bad, but there could be one that's really good. I guess he could also count for a book character, though I have not read the books so I can't say for sure. I believe the books and movies are supposed to be very different.
Cartoon? Well...

I just really want to be a bad ass cyberpunk lady who leads a squad of highly skilled cyborg private police personal taking out criminals and solving crimes n shit gosh darn it.
I'm not the biggest Ghost in the Shell, or even any sort of GitS fan at all, but a Stand Alone Complex game? Or a game where you can re-enact the scene in the original movie where she really fucks that one guy up in the puddle? Yeah, that could be awesome if done right. Like Deus Ex, only with a woman and in anime form. I know there was a PSP and a PS2 (edit: and PS1!/edit) game, but I don't remember hearing anything good about them.

I thought my choices were good. But then I started thinking about a GitS game, and yeah. How cool would it be to have a group of Tachikomas at your command? Or maybe even be able to play, or at least customize them? And Batou? If the storyline was a main quest like a "complex" and the side-missions were "standalone" bits, the Standalone Complex would give you your rough format for how to divvy it up. It could be great if the writing was up to that level of quality...
PS. Plus what @believer258 said above. I think we're onto something here!
A Venture Bros game would be my cartoon choice, one that is made in the same fashion they're making the new South Park game, one that is a representation of what makes VB so so good.
Movie would be Snatch, a fun game centered around a heist with a funny cast of characters, throw in some of the guys from the original movie like Brick Top.
Book would be A Song of Ice and Fire series, I know there have been attempts but none so far have been able to capture the spirit of George RR Martin's world and characters, honestly the best has been the mod for Crusader Kings 2 which really gets the intrigue and backstabbing of the series right.
@Flacracker: When I see this, my mind instantly goes to Rise of the Argonauts. Which if done much better actually would be pretty awesome, and the Odyssey is a better story too.
Wheel of Time (an RPG or a strategy game, not another FPS)
Inception (because it has potential to be a really intense story game based in that universe)
Centurions (because I will argue that this is the best cartoon series to come out of the 80s until the day I die. THE DAY I DIE!)

What?! No way! Gotta look that up. Okay, then I say Don Bluth's Secret of Nimh and if that's not going to work I'm going with @MikeGosot Regular Show. Why does Adventure Time get all the attention?
Edit. I'm getting my movie and cartoon mixed up. Movie: Secret of Nimh or The Dark Crystal. Cartoon: Max Fleischer Superman series. Maybe we'd finally get a good Superman game besides The Death and Return of Superman.
