(Don't know if this has been made before, if it has, let me know.)

Tonight my Los Angeles Lakers will face the Boston Celtics in what is one the most important games of the past few years (at least for Lakers nation) because if they lose this game, last years championship is basically worth nothing. Plus, if they win, Phil is almost guaranteed to return because there is no way he is passing up the chance for another three-peat.

I'm extremely excited and anxious as fuck and I know there has to be others who feel the same way...right?
Anyways, who are you rooting for, who do you think will actually win, who do you think will be the deciding factor, how many bad shots will Ron Artest take, and most importantly, will Rasheed Wallace finally punch a ref?

I hate the Lakers with a passion, they act as though they are the greatest basketball organization when they are not.  And because of that, I hope Boston wins, to bad the officials won't let that happen.

Oh and I don't like the Lakers because their best players anally raped a woman and didn't get in trouble.

@fwylo: I know its still a win, but it would be sandwiched between two loses to the Celtics. In other words, it would only be remembered as the championship they won against "not the Celtics".

Fucking Satans, they are evil.

I am obviously rooting against the Los Angeles Satans with all my heart, not so much because I like the Celtics (though I do), but because I hate pure evil.

I warn Satan fans not to underestimate Rasheed Wallace in tonights starting role, as a Pistons fan I can vouch that he thrives in big games and there is a lot of evidence to prove it. He's inconsistent usually, but I feel like he's the key to tonight's game.

Things I hope for:
1) Someone to knock down and generally harm Kobe Bryant. The more he hits the floor, the better.
2) A good matchup between Gasol and Garnett, because I like both of them and I feel like we haven't seen a good duel between these two yet in this series for some reason.
3) Celtic insane clown posse bench to outplay the Satan bench, though I feel like Nate Robinson is really only a home crowd player. Mostly looking to the Ticket Stub tonight.
4) Obviously a good game from Rasheed Wallace.
5) Lastly, for the refs to let the teams play a la the 1981 ECF Game 7. Best game of all time. This one won't come close, but if I see ridiculous stats like "Celtics go to line only 10 times" again, I'll know for sure that the refs rigged this year's playoffs just like in 2002.

@Feanor: I hate that his is why people hate the Lakers.  They are one of the best teams ever.  And they have had some of the best players in the history of the NBA go through their organization.

Also, the girls that their best players allegedly raped, had more than 5 different semen specimen in their cunts.  Those whore's were just looking for money grabs.  Pick up a superstar and then call rape for the money.

@Mamba219: In the last game, for the first three-plus quarters, Boston was not being agressive at all, they were flat and resorted to taking jump shots. That is what lead to "only ten free throws". More Jump shots = less free throws

@Manhattan_Project: You're right, but the disparity was obscene. For Game 6 given how the Celts played, I wasn't expecting MORE trips to the line than the Satans. But give me a break, in the playoffs, the refs average over 50 calls a game. You're telling me that even with the penalty in place, they only get 10-15 shots? Yeah, right.

And @fwylo: You're probably right, but given that this is Kobe Bryant we're talking about, my money's on the rape. If it were Magic Johnson, Wilt Chamberlain, or Kareem we were talking about, even though they're Satans, I wouldn't believe the chick.

What he said. Also, the concept of best ever is subject to your preferences. I'm a Lakers fan, so yes, the Lakers are the best organization. Ask a Celtics fan, and you'll obviously get a different answer. The only exception being best player ever.

@Feanor: Also what he said. The girl was a whore looking for a paycheck.

@Mamba219: The Lakers had nineteen free throws. Your telling me their energy/aggressiveness didn't account for nine more free throws?

The hatred for Kobe is absolutely ridiculous. Just because he doesn't spew constant bullshit at the camera during interviews, people think that he's a dick. To be good, there is a certain level of required over-confidence.

Hearing people say Kobe is selfish or arrogant pisses me off, because it's a criticism that could be leveled at any great player (barring Tim Duncan).

Kobe is not my favorite player (Durant, LeBron, Carmelo would take my top 3 favorites), but hearing people criticise him, no matter what he does, really gets on my nerves.

With that said, I'm taking the Lakers. I have since the beginning: I think that the Celtics are too inconsistent when it comes to fourth quarter scoring, and finishing quarters, and home-court will be enough to push the Lakers past them.

Uh, have you watched him play? The dude always looks like he wants to eviscerate his teammates. I don't recall getting that vibe from really any other "great" player, ever.

I buy rape, because watching him makes me believe I'm watching a sociopath; a monster.

@Mamba219: The greatest player ever, Michael Jordan, is widely known to have fought teamates simply because he felt the need to cement his alpha-dog status, he would cuss out teamates (on court), GM's, coaches if they didn't meet his expections. For all intents and purposes, Jordan was an asshole of the highest caliber. Jordan was just lucky he didn't play during the minute-to-minute media coverage of today.

@Manhattan_Project: First off, not the greatest player. Second off, at least he was a decent person off the court, as everyone attests. The man was a hyper competitive sociopath, which everyone knows. Personally, I think Kobe Bryant is just a sociopath, because if he were a hyper competitive sociopath, no way he would have only won 35 games in a season, no matter how crappy his supporting cast was.

@Mamba219: Well, it was actually 34 games and he only played 66 games due to injury. Starters on that team were:
Caron Butler (before he was an above average player), Chucky Atkins, Chris Mihm, and Lamar Odom (who only played 64 games).
His coaches were: Rudy Tomjanovich and later Frank Hamblen.
Name one player who had that bad of a cast around him, was injured, and still won more then 40 games.

I'll do you one better.

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, 1977 Satans. His supporting cast was balls to the wall awful and yet he carried them to the best record in the West (53-29) and within one win of the 1977 Finals. Look up that team. Seriously. Hideously bad, easily one of the worst Satans teams ever, yet there they were. Don't think Kareem got injured, but no way do those 16 games Kobe missed translate into 16 more wins, and even if they did, Kareem bettered him. Not only that, but Rudy T. is a terrific coach, whereas Jerry West was Kareem's coach during those years, and...yeah, he's a better administrator than coach.

And Kareem wasn't by any stretch a hyper competitive sociopath.

Oh, and, uh, Tim Duncan won the championship in 2003 with a pretty damn bad supporting cast, beating the Satans who sported the likes of Shaqobe and Horace Grant along the way. Tim Duncan has several times been straddled with lousy supporting cast members and has never won less than 50 games until this season and has an obscene overall winning percentage (forget off the top of my head, but it's something like 74%).

@Mamba219: Tim Duncan has always benefited from Greg Popavich. Also, his team wasn't that bad, he had Tony Parker, Bruce Bowen, David Robinson, and Malik Rose who played great off the bench.
As for Rudy, he had 2 good years, and thats it, and to be honest, the only way he could have fucked that up was to bring MJ back from retirement himself.

Kareem was very competitive saying that he wasn't is ridiculous.

And that 1977 Lakers squad, they were bad on paper, on the court however, they all played to Kareem's strengths, also Lucious Allen and Cazzie Russell are better then anything Kobe had in 04'.

Let's go Lakers.  Fuck the Celtics.  Overall this is a supremely boring finals, made up of two predictable teams.

Quick fact:  Game 7 court-side seats are rumored to have a price tag of $50,000 each!
