I've heard some good things about the game and was wondering if it was worth the microsoft points on xbox live?
Need people's opinions on psychonauts!
I bought it on Steam before it was put on the Xbox Live Marketplace. I would definitely buy it if I were you. It's one of the few games that I think every gamer should play. I'm sure it plays better with a console controller too.
Excellent platformer/adventure game. Nice story, top sound work and music, awesome distinct visuals and art style. One of the best Xbox games and still more than holds up today. Only downside is that it gets a little repetitive towards the end.
I loved that game! One of the most loved games of the last generation, even though it didn't sell well. It's really funny, and just fun to play. ^_^
While a lot of the platforming elements in Psychonauts is kind of average, the game's amazing story, characters, and dialogue make this game very well worth playing. It is a very original, hilarious, colorful and entertaining game. Go for it. And for anyone else who wants to play Psychonauts, you can play the game for free on Gametap.
Dunno if you have a decent PC, but you can get it free off of Gametap.
EDIT: Argh, just noticed that was posted. :|

Love the game and I highly recommend it. The last level will make you want to pull your hair out though, just so you know.
"HazBazz said:I see absolutely no problem with those statements."ya this is coming from the guy that said "I dont give a flying shit about multiplayer." and "halo is by no means bad its just average." hes a real master alright /endsarcasm""It's fucking awesome"
Take it from the master.

Psychonauts as a game is a fairly average platformer full of collectable quests and some backtracking repetition.
But as a story, everything is so entirely insane and non-sequitor that if you don't immediately fall in love with the major characters and their actions you should die in a fire.
Do yourself a favor and buy the damn game. If you do, Brütal Legend will come out 1% faster. And if you don't want to see Jack Black fight Rob Halford in a metal battle to the death, then I don't ever want to speak to you.

"Fr0Br0 said:Why? So what if the guy doesn't like multiplayer? Even I feel that multiplayer doesn't set right with some games and is not always needed if it won't be any fun. And any Halo game past Halo: CE has never been anything above average."carzy said:well then you my friend should find a new hobby""HazBazz said:I see absolutely no problem with those statements.""ya this is coming from the guy that said "I dont give a flying shit about multiplayer." and "halo is by no means bad its just average." hes a real master alright /endsarcasm""It's fucking awesome"

Maybe you should look at things from Yahtzee's side and actually listen to what he has to say about games instead of blocking him out with a die hard fan mindset.
Dude the game is hilarious.
I mean it has a telekinetic bear, a dentist who harvest brains, and a secret agent disguised as a middle-aged housewife brandishing a rolling pin and talking disjointedly about pies.:P
The way I describe it to my friends when I recommend it is: it's like playing a really funny, really, really awesome, quirky cartoon. Sure, sometimes the platforming and level design aren't exactly up to par with, say, Super Mario Galaxy, and the game has bi-polar difficulty levels throughout, but the story, the writing, and the characters are so well put together throughout that it makes for one of the better games of the last generation. Very highly recommended.
