I can't wait for this. Left 4 Dead is the most fun I have ever had with a four-player co-op game. I've played a ton of hours and I am still not bored of it. I am so glad this game is coming out next month!
You'd almost thing Valve was a business, putting out a second game. Sounds crazy, right? A business putting out a successful product to make money. Madness.
Used to play L4D all day, every day... been trying to play it again this week... boy does it get old. Probably not going to bother with L4D2, especially with MW2 taking up most of my time as it undoubtedly will.
i dont get why people are mad. If the game is good, buy it! I'll bet most of you got COD4 and COD5 and will get COD6. Would you perfer that that pushed it back a year just because you have to have somthing to bitch about all the time? Trust Valve people. They know what they're doing. They said the new AI couldnt be patched into L4D 1 so they had to make this.
also look at all the new stuff! Most sequals have just as much brand new content as this (GoW 2, Halo 3, Modern warfare 2 to name a few)
I think l4d 1 was a dissapointment to me, This one looks like it will be much better. THe only complaint I have is the characters...I really hate them all except coach...they should have a dlc to add the old characters :/ Zoey- FTW!
And I have very little problem paying for a sequel a year after the original when so many other series do it - plus, it only cost $33 when sharing a bundle with three other people. Can't complain about that price, when people are buying this year's Madden or Call of Duty for $60.
yea i'm glad this turned into a full game and not just $60 dlc. also there's a new modifier that you can turn on for any campaign that makes it more realistic meaning, extremely impossible. just imagine the hardest mode with realisim turned on.
They should've just released it as an expansion or package or something so if you bought it you could still access the original content. Splitting the user base is never a good idea.
I don't care too much. I didn't buy the first one but I thought about it. Honestly if it came in a new Orange Box style it might get me to buy it. But I bought the Orange Box and only play TF2 so... *Shrugs* (Well after Beating Portal of course!)
i dunno man, still seems like it'll be brutal for survivor's, unless the types of infected enemy players can use is limited to charger/spitter/humper/smoker.
@SilenceUK: Either I did a poor job articulating or you missed my point. I don't feel ripped off by the L4D in the slightest and have plugged more time with it then anything else since release. What I wrote in my initial reply to you wasn't so much my own thoughts as were they reflective of a disappointing point tabled in pretty much every professional review for the game. It has less to do with L4D's length and much more to do with the situation of releasing a sequel one year later.
Any public relations worker will tell you everything is about optics and what the customer perceives to be truth. In this case many people think a lot of the content in Left 4 Dead 2 was held back from a game considered by most to be short on such. And because everyone loves money, not just companies, a lot of people aren't willing to part with it so easily. I think if L4D2 came next fall it wouldn't have attracted the same kind of malice.
I love Left 4 Dead, and I will buy the sequel, but not on release. Not so much because of what I've been writing about, more so because last year Amazon had it for $14.99 a week after release. I have to be a cheap fuck. Everyone wants more money from me these days and I got to reap them savings when possible.
I, for one, am actually stoked for this game, i think that I won't mind paying nearly full price for this game, because i'll definitely be doing the 4 - person deal again, and saving a bit of cash. But I put so much time into the first L4D, and i'm still playing it. So I'm excited to get my hands on this game.
that music is fuckin tight. no need for a sound mod on this game. at least for a little while. probably still throw in the macho madness mod for shits and giggles.

This game mode seems a bit scary. going off without your teamates? If you don't hand the special infected immediately you're fucked. All you people who played L4D1 and like it but think your not going to play the new one... guess what? you're wrong. Sorry the development cycle isn't as predictable as you want it to be but the complaints i see with L4D2 seem to actually be complaints about L4D1! Yes it was light on content but the only reason we know that is because we played the hell out of it and wanted more. Guess what? This is more. Take it or leave it.
I find it funny how everybody complained about valve not releasing games quick enough. Where the fuck is Half-Life 3 already :). Then when they release a sequel to a game a year later people get pissed. I understand if people just don't want any more Left 4 Dead, that is understandable. But when people complain that they would rather have Left 4 Dead 1 DLC it doesn't make any sense to me. I mean Crash Course kinda sucked big time. This looks pretty neat but it's coming out too close to Modern Warfare 2 and Assassin's Creed for me to care.
