new firmware update

I bought a new ps3 slim a few months ago and have had no porblems with it until today when i updated the firmware. Within a few hours it has froze 5 times and is really annoyin me. 
 
Does anyone know if its to do with the update? 
Is anyone having the same problem?

no, not the same problem. when i first got it i had problems connecting to my friend with modern warfare 2. we both reset the router and such and it worked. 
 
for ur problem i'm sure sony will release another update lol to fix it.
