What does everyone think?
New Halo Trilogy
Why not? Every other franchise gets milked till its deadAlthough most don't profess to have finished things before making more installments in the story. Most.
The most genius thing Microsoft could do is make you have a Kinect to do Armer Abilities and stuff. Cause I already have a Kinect. And you dont. Ha.
The only thing that's come close to the glory of Halo 1, talking purely about the amount of fun I've had with these games, is Reach. Unless they do some brand-new, really awesome things with this 'new trilogy' (which is bullshit, this is making it a sextilogy AND YES THAT IS A THING DONT LOOK IT UP PLEASE), it's doomed to be crushed by its own expectations.

But even by that logic, you're wrong; they continued the story arc with ODST, Reach, and maybe Wars (I didn't play a lot of it). If you mean "end" as in "it's the last game in the timeline", then...fuck.
The Reclaimer Trilogy, as it's been named, does interest me. I really want to know more though, for one thing, who the feck are the enemy now that the Human-Covenant war is over and MC and Cortana are going towards a forerunner planet.
I look forward to seeing more info as it's released.
But those other games are part of the same story arc, especially since they all concern themselves with the same fight against the Covenant.
I'd go on, but I see a problem that I'm not sure will be fixed: the focus of the arc either being Master Chief or the fight against the Covenant.

boil them, mash them or put them in a stew.
Oh, WORD? Toss in a brace of coneys, you got yourself a nice meal there.
As someone who never really got into Halo 3* and hasn't played the subsequent ones, I'm pretty pumped to see where the series goes. 343 does have a lot to prove, but they have a pretty clean slate to work with. I'm curious as to how the Halo name will apply to this trilogy since it was a key arc and motif to the previous trilogy, or if the Halo name is the--much more likely--result of wanting to keep the marketable name.
*Halo 3 for me suffered from an incredible advertising campaign that made me want a game 3 wasn't. That's not necessarily a knock against the game so much as I wish that diorama from the "Believe" campaign was a large-scale scene that actually took place. Although, if it did somewhere feel free to call me dumb. I'm not knocking the game either. It was good. I would have finished it had school not started up and sucked away all my free time.
Sentinels, the Forerunners themselves, the Flood, other humans maybe. It could be Precursors, as there looked to be one at the end of that concept art video 343 released today. They have tossed around "Ancient evil" when talking about the game and the Precursors seem to fit along with that. Btw I'm no Halo expert I've just watched some Youtube videos and read some of the Halo wiki. The Reclaimer Trilogy, as it's been named, does interest me. No seriously, I'm a diehard Halo fan despite what everyone says. What have people been saying?
Ive actually been a little burned out on halo recently but Im getting excited again for the new trilogy
I think the motivation behind halo 4 is wrong, 343 industries seems like a creepy halo money factory, dedicated to raping the corpse of bungies leftovers.
I do love halo but my expectations are low. It seems the franchise is bigger that the company who is making it (figuratively) and so any real innovation or step forward with the series will be lost in favour of trying too hard to make another halo game.
Hooowever, I would love to be proven wrong.

I'm sure Halo, more specifically, Master Chief, still have a lot of gas left in the tank, and I do look forward to more of it. I just wish they hadn't announced it so damn soon.
I pretty much feel the same, I'm a big fan of the series..
But a new game should have waited to launch with the next Xbox console, or if that's really going to be so far off, at least waited a couple of years. It's far too soon for another Halo game, it's impossible to be excited about it.
@MAN_FLANNEL: Yeah, I know all that, but I personally don't think The Flood could hold up an entire game as an enemy...especially when the most common forms were just Elites/Marines that were infected.
Forerunners are likely, but they'd have to have a good reason for them to attack MC, Humans being the descendants of Forerunners.
I just want some specifics really, speculation usually goes completely in the wrong directions.
