New Slim Owner wants your top 10!

Yep, it's another one of those "recommend some games to me" threads. I just grabbed my slim on Wednesday, along with Soul Calibur IV (picked at random, but LOVING it!).  So, give me the top-10 games I should buy, in no particular order.  Cross-platform is ok, because I own a Wii...and there's no way I'm buying a cross-platform game on the Wii.

This thread would be helpful for me as im picking a PS3 up in a few weeks time (as soon as I start college). Though Im looking for the best games Im more wanting exclusives personally this thread could help me choose a good few games to get on day one.

I suggest you grab Killzone 2 and Resistance 2.
If you've followed the Metal Gear Solid series, then pick up Metal Gear Solid 4.
I don't own a PS3 but I know those games have a huge fanbase and players etc.

LBP, Valkyria Chronicles, Red Faction if you dont own it, Killzone 2, Uncharted, Dead space, MGS4, Orange Box, Fallout 3 if you dont have, annnnnnd Shatter!

I've heard good things about Killzone 2 and Resistance 2, but I haven't played them so I can't personally reccommend them.

Yep, Killzone 2 is a definate, online is still really thriving, even if nobody bothers to buy the map packs. 
LBP is excellent just because it's so much fun. 
MGS 4 if you liked MGS 1, 2, 3 
Uncharted, play it quickly before the next one cones out, it's one of the most under-rated games of this generation, and among thieves is looking excellent. 
 
Also, PSN-wise: Wipeout HD, Shatter, Pixeljunk Monsters, aaaaand Fat Princess are all lots of fun.

My top five exclusives:

1. Metal Gear Solid 4, maybe my favorite exclusive right now, totally impressive, a little overwhelming  
2. LittleBigPlanet, this one won 8 AIAS awards including goty
3. Valykyria Chronicles, great strategy rpg, check out the quicklook of this overlooked title
4. Killzone 2, I am a big fan of the online play, single player is meh
5. Uncharted, excellent cinematic action game, a little short though

Honorable mentions: infamous, a lot of people love this game but I never got into it.  MLB: The Show (series) best baseball game on the market, if you are into that

Top five non-exclusives:

1. Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, my favorite game of this generation, 160 hours in and there is still more to do!
2. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, best shooter ever, online play might be a little lame now but everything else is great
3. Burnout: , $20 for the best driving game of this generation
4. Dead Space, best game for trophies, Vinny’s favorite game of 2008
5. Rock Band 2, because Alex Navarro needs to eat too

The PS3 is a good media player, set up a streaming network with Tversity.

I recommend Uncharted, MGS4, Resistance 1 & 2, Killzone 2, Infamous, Motorstorm and Fallout 3.

 I'll split them down the middle in terms of PSN and retail.
