I just like to ask you all, are you really satisfied with this generation gaming?
Next-Gen Gaming
Not really this gen..mostly this upcoming end of 08 to mid 09...there is so much happening..so many game releases in this time period, its finally going to top 1998 in terms of the best year, so pretty satisfied.
btw, this should be called 'This gen gaming, next gen is far behind us now :P

"Ofcourse. Gears of War, Halo 3, GTA IV, Assassin's Creed, COD4, SSBB and Pokemon Diamond made this gen awesome."I'll like to add, Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess too.
I'm somewhat ambivalent, really. I mean, a lot of quality games have been released, sure. But a lot of the games are just repeating concepts pioneered in the last generation. I'm not seeing a lot of "bar-pushing" yet, though I can't remember if there had been a swell of revolution at this time last cycle.
I guess, what I'm getting at: I'm playing through Half-Life 2 for the first time, and it is a game that was released near the tail end of the last generation. That game is still light years ahead of a lot of mainstream releases, just in terms of ambition, scope, tone, interactivity, and it still looks better than half the games released for the current generation's platforms. I even have the gall to say it is more impressive now than Halo 3, which stands as a monolithic staple of modern action gaming.
Granted, Half-Life 2 was released at a point late in its generation's life cycle, and the current one is still in its infancy, still feeding from the nipple, so to speak. Maybe, when we hit the apex of the generation's brilliance, and developers are less concerned with "making games look photo-realistic" and instead focus on putting a wealth of creative thought into the product, then we'll start seeing this generation's Half-Life 2, or this generation's Goldeneye.
Yes and no, but mainly yes.
I like the systems with all the new features (except for the hole red ring thing) and I think they will last longer than last Gen did.
Games, yes but i think that their seems to be less original titles this gen, most games are just sequils.
so yer, Its going pretty good.

I totaly agree with you. Half-life 2 is hands down the better game in every way but one, multi player.
"Somewhat. A lot of games this gen are going the way of EA. Shorter development cycles produce shorter games, more advertising and generally worse games. But we have seen some real original gems like The Orange Box, STALKER and I suppose Gears of War."While this partly true there have been a lot of excellent games the last couple years. There will always be the cheap movie games and the yearly sport clones but during that 12 months there are a lot of great games. I know how you feel though, sometimes the games that I get the most excited for end up being really crappy.
