I think that gaming instruments are here to stay . . . both plastic and "real". But I think they will probably continue to morph until they are essentially real instruments that you just plug in to play (as we're already seeing now) . . . . as weird as the whole thing kinda is, I do think they are with us for good.

Where's the "both" option? After all, fad genres (IE all of them, at some point) never truly die out. Flight sim? HAWX. Beat em up? Castle Crashers. Mascot-based platformers? Ninjabread Men. They're not as powerful, but they're still around.

@Video_Game_King: Eww, you mentioned Ninjabread Man ;)  anyway, peripherals have been around forever. From the Super Scope to the Guitar Hero instruments, they're here to stay.

idk if you noticed but everything is made of plastic now. It's light and cheap. I say it's here to stay.

i think it's kind of a fad. a lot of people played but now i don't see a lot of people playing it anymore. there is another guitar hero and rock band coming out again. maybe some people will buy it while other won't.

i bought guitar hero 1 and 2 for the ps2 when they came out. i didn't buy another one again because i sucked at it. i didn't enjoy the game a lot.
