PlayStation 2 Now $99
I probably will pick up Persona 4. Although it will be after my exams, when I have time to play a game that's capable of bringing all other aspects of your life to a standstill.
Now maybe I'll finally replace my old launch PS2 which has been dying a slow death over the course of the past couple of years. It can play most games fine, but it really struggles on some of the bigger dual layer DVD games. No matter how clean that laser lens is, it just can't manage to get me more than half way through God of War 2.
Well, i'm not picking up persona 4 mainly because i can't be arsed to go through everything the endurance run has been through.
And err...i don't like looking at that picture. seems spoiler-ish.
Weird my launch PS2 is still going strong. I thought the Playstation was bullet proof.
And yes, I am playing PS4 already.
If there was Persona 4: Jeff and Vinny version(full commentary), I'd play the shit out of that game. I'm dead serious. If I played it just normally it wouldn't be nearly as fun.
My PS2 is in the closet and it's not coming out, so no Persona4.
The endurance run has, however, made me look at SMT: Devil Survivor for the DS, so that's something.
I got mine in 2006, and already have more than 50 PS2 games. There's still a glut of good games available, so anyone who doesn't have a PS2 yet no longer has any excuses. ;)
Wow I got my PS2 back in 2001 and it still runs perfectly today. Crazy to think that this system is only $99 - it is a steal at that price and with all those "Greatest Hits" titles and the price point those are usually at (not to mention they are usually quality games chosen) someone could experience a lot of amazing games from the past for a relatively cheap price.
According to the PS2 wiki page the console has sold over 140-million units since launch. Imagine what that number may swell to now that the price has been cut once again to an amazing $99.
Either way, this is another milestone in the best-selling console's life. Hard to think it is still around after nearly 9 years. I wonder what they will do next year on it's 10th year anniversary...
I bought my slim at Christmas. My best friend from up North had a slim and she said that after a few weeks of play it got loud and then wouldn't read her disc. She tried to run a disc cleaner through it but it didn't help.
Also hear that they heat up fast.
Just FYI, a "Greatest Hits" label doesn't indicate exemplary quality, it just means it sold over 400k in 9 months.
I actually just picked up FFX for my PS2 over the weekend. So many great games. I am convinced that the PS2 is the best console ever made.
