So I am hearing alot of people giving a lot of bad ideas for the next ER. In my mind there is NOTHING that could come even close to Persona 4. Doing Persona 3 next would be just...lazy. Also, bad games like the new Harry Potter should stay in Quick Looks.
Then it hit me.
Megaman 9.
First of all, this stays true to the name Endurance Run.
Second, they could easily switch players from episode to episode because you only have a jump button and a shoot button. No complicated gameplay mechanics.
Also, watching people fail at Megaman is unbelivably entertaining.
Can anyone tell me why it would be a bad idea, so I could stop thinking about it?
Please shoot down my idea for the next Endurance Run.
Pew Pew. Done.
Also, Jeff already posted a video of him playing Mega Man 9 and getting hella pissed off, I highly doubt they would be prepared to do that for months on end. Also, theres a thread already.
Have you seen the video of Jeff playing Mega Man? I'd give this Endurance Run 30 minutes before it was rage quit.
That´s where switching players comes in. Keeps the videos fresh while preventing controller destruction
And Jeff´s video just showed him swearing, I would have liked some gameplay with that
I think Mega Man 9 requires A LOT more concentration than Persona 4 does. The person playing would probably hardly ever talk.

But we would forgive them, wouldn´t we?

Your idea sucks.Megaman endurance run is a horrible idea

Calvin Tuckers Redneck Jamboree happens to be in my top 5 games of all time, so please do not insult it. If your were curious, the 4 games I find more intriguing are: ET for the Atari, Superman 64 for the N64, Bible Adventures for the NES, and finally Hooters Road Trip for the PC. I would very much appreciate you not taking cheap shots at any of those gems, thanks much!
" @Ventilator: I don't know if I could forgive them, Jeff wasn't the man I knew in that video, I was deeply shaken. "That's how everyone plays Mega Man.
" @Ventilator: But isn't the best part of the Endurance Run the banter between both people? It is for me, anyway. "
But think about what the other person who isn´t currently playing would have to say. "Whooop, almost had it. *sips energy drink*
I don't know about an endurance run, but a ~2 hour special quick looks where they switch the controller between deaths would be amazing.
It's called an ENDURANCE Run. I can beat Mega Man 9 in an afternoon. So, no.
Here's an idea. Don't do another Endurance Run. Persona 4 was picked because neither Jeff or Vinny felt they had time to play it, but wanted to. If that ever happens again, and it's a lengthy game, then fine. But don't just do it to do it, that would be dumb.
" They shouldn't do another Endurance Run just for the sake of doing one.Everyone loves the Endurance Run (including myself) but let's give Jeff, Vinny and Drew a break once they finish with P4. "Considering how popular they are they'll probably want to start another one. You don't do 100 episodes for nothing. I remember at the start they said they'll keep going until they died, then it was until one video screwed up, now it's until the end of the game.
You really need something that can be played without intense concentration, and has a story that progresses as the main attraction of the game so that it wont be the same thing each episode. You really couldnt do it with something else.
Anyway, as I keep saying in every one of these threads, what right do we have to simply assume it's going to become a mainstay feature? Perhaps it's just a one off, it takes up a lot of their time, and certain people (not myself) are complaining of a lack of content at GB (which tbh, how much content can you expect from 4 guys? We're getting a lot as it is) and tbh, I would expect the guys want to do something else in their free evenings after Endurance Run finishes. Maybe they will do another , maybe not, but I would be very surprised if it happens immidietely afterwards. So let's not just assume that it's going to happen again hmm? I'm not even sute they would want to do it again, let alone have a list of 8 million games the community wants them to play shoved in their face.
Megaman 9 wouldn't be an "Endurance" Run, it would be a "Holy Shit This Game is Frustrating as Hell Fuck This" Run. And besides, watching someone repeatedly fail at playing Megaman is not entertaining. At all.
"Every episode would end with a "FUCK THIS!""
"This Endurance Run is OVER!!!"
"Yeah Well... Fine!!!"
