Poll Pop-Tarts: Cold or Hot? (201 votes)
Cold, but I'll also take a hot one.

Hot because I am not a savage.
Actually better yet who is out in the wild microwaving pop tarts? They are the animals. Had someone give me one a few years ago microwaved and I was borderline angry with her for doing that to me. It was no joke one of the weirdest food experiences of my life. Weirder than being served with no warning whatsoever a baby squid in a cereal bowl while in a little mountain town in Japan. The microwave fucks up a Pop Tart that badly.
@thrice_604: I need to try that, just to know your pain..
I bet Patrick fucking grills his!. That sounds pretty good, actually.. Indoor grill.
Cold. Never really liked the taste/consistency of them toasted.
Toaster Strudels are pretty good, but I don't think you can really compare them to Pop-Tarts since those are frozen and Pop-Tarts aren't.
I don't eat poison and hate fun but if you're not even going to bother sticking them in the toaster for a minute before you shove it into your face I don't even know.
@stonyman65: Toaster strudels are definitely better than Pop Tarts, they are close enough in concept for comparison. But it takes longer to make them. If I'm a position to be making pop tarts I'm obviously not up to the task of making a toaster strudel. Especially because my toaster under cooks them with one cycle but burns them with two so I have to time hitting the cancel button just right to make them. And yes my space toaster has a cancel button.

Word. I know how that is LOL.
I agree that Toaster Strudels are better, but like you said, you're probably eating pop tarts because you don't want to deal with all that.
I can get down with either. I honestly haven't toasted any poptarts in probably close to a decade, but it's not because I don't like them; I just don't have the time. Usually when I'm eating a poptart it's because I need to eat something on the way out the door.
Cold as in room temp/straight from the package?
If so, then my answer is neither. Over the past few years I've grown to love frozen Poptarts. Of course that's not to say I would turn down a room temp or hot Poptart if one was offered.
I like the chocolate ones the best as cold but can't stand the fruit ones cold. Them I like hot. Any of them are fine at room temperature.
I love me a hot chocolate fudge pop tart. Then dip that bad boy in milk? Best breakfast ever.
For the record I think all cold pop tarts are gross.
They taste better warm but I'm usually too lazy and just eat them at room temperature.
this except often times I'll cook them in the toaster then forget about them so they are room temperature.
I completely forgot toasting Pop-Tarts was a thing. I've always ate them cold and forever will.
Also, Toaster Strudels are a million times better than Pop-Tarts.
Hot is better. But if i'm so lazy that im resorting to eating poptarts, then my lazy ass isn't going to heat them up. If im gonna put effort into heating them up i might as well have something better than poptarts.
Purely depends on what flavors of Pop-Tarts are around. The cinnamon ones are great either way. S'mores should be heated. Fruit-filled can probably go either way, but it has probably been about 20 years since I ate a fruit-filled Pop-Tart so not sure. I just remember the Blueberry ones would give me massive stomach pains so I stopped eating the fruit-filled ones.
I used to be an exclusively hot Pop Tarts guy, but then I ended up getting really lazy all the time and started eating it raw. Like its some sort of salmon. Both types are fine, though.
I don't eat them cold, as I don't think anyone does. Room temperature is fine with me. Calling it "cold" bothers me, almost as much as "cold" cereal.
In most of my Pop-Tart-eating situations, a toaster isn't readily available to me, so I usually don't have a choice. I may toast them given the option, but I eat them so rarely that it doesn't really make a difference to me.

You put room temperature milk in your cereal?
In college, cold pop tarts were the only thing that were really available to me. Some people lived off of ramen noodles, I lived off of pop tarts. I can't eat warm or hot pop tarts. It just feels weird.
Either/or, they're fine with me. There's also certain flavors that are great frozen.
Yup, the hot fudge sundae flavor is pretty awesome straight out of the freezer. Ice cream on top is optional.
Both, though I'm also partial to frozen Pop Tarts.
However, if given a choice between the dry crumbliness of a poptart and the flaky fillingness of a toaster strudel, I will pick the latter every single time. However, since Toaster Strudels require toasting, they aren't the best "Oh shit! I overslept and have class in 15 minutes!" kind of breakfast.

No, many people refer to cereal as "cold" when they eat it without milk for whatever reason.

Eh, most people call it cold because it isn't hot cereal (cream of wheat, oatmeal). I call it cold cereal.
I used to eat Pop Tarts exclusively after toasting them in a toaster however I've been converted to eat them straight from the fridge. Strawberry and cherry pop tarts taste amazing that way. Also the crust is a lot more tolerable that way.
