I was wondering what the stand is on posting specific information on a page. I just recently wrote out a lengthy article about each of the endings for Chrono Trigger on the Chrono Trigger page. Someone brought it up to me that they belong in a guide. I can see how they would go in a guide but would something like this be allowed?

Well To late now. Im asking because I just got a pm from starfoxa saying he thinks im abusing the wiki by doing stuff like that so he deletes all my info which I didn't save a backup for yet.
What? yeah it was? the formatting wasn't great but it had good grammar and punctations. not like i was writing on a forum, like say now. It took me a long time too.

How was it not very well-written? I saw no problems with it, and I thought you just corrected yourself saying only tidbits then going to the whole thing wasn't very well-written?I meant that only tidbits were opinionated. I saw punctuation and grammar errors aplenty. Maybe you didn't notice them, but I did.
LOL if there were any (maybe there were, everyone makes mistakes) they couldn't have been that much. And nothing was opinionated again still doesn't give you the right to delete someone else hard work. its up to mods.

Your standing your ground, but I agree with MasturbatingBear/10

"Well. I think I'm done. StarFox admitted he was probably wrong to delete it outright like that, but MasturbatingBear's general writing quality is definitely subpar. I've reached a crossroads of opinions that I cannot decide between. Have fun, kids."Okay, see you later.

what? I want justice? Not for me but if your going around deleting others work then going to re-do their work to get your own points I don't see how that is acceptable.
"what? I want justice? Not for me but if your going around deleting others work then going to re-do their work to get your own points I don't see how that is acceptable."Isn't that part of what GiantBomb is? It is essentially a video game Wikipedia. Your work will get deleted occasionally. Now, I'm not saying that it is necessarily correct (I was a bit rash in the deletion of your section). Re-doing others' work, however, is a part of what this site is. Since there are so many people, it's like a large group of editors, all correcting mistakes or rewriting sections. In this case I felt it was necessary to rewrite that section because it wasn't very well-written in the first place. That sounds more like contribution than point farming to me.
"what? I want justice? Not for me but if your going around deleting others work then going to re-do their work to get your own points I don't see how that is acceptable."I regularly erase or completely re-work paragraphs leaving nothing but the framework set down by the previous writer behind, whether it's for being too opinionated in the article or just plain readability issues. It's a frequent problem on the wiki and it's a legitimite practice to do so. It would have been better for him to A. tell you that he'd be re-writing it, or B. delete and re-write it in one edit, and not bother telling anybody. He didn't really do either of those things. If he *does* replace the content, I don't see a problem with it. (although you might want to keep your editing stuff private, Fox ;-) )
Alright, I think the conflicit is resolved MB. Wait, I can't call you that. MasturbatingBear, sorry. Anyway, we get it. I think he gets it, too. He made a mistake and it sucks that you lost a lot of shit, he shouldn't have deleted it. But what's there to do now?
"MasturbatingBear said:The problem is my writing was good and useful, so he didn't need to re-do it, also he is just trying to gain more points..."what? I want justice? Y'know, if StarFoxA is going to re-write the section, then I see no problem here. Fact of the matter is, if he can write it much better than the way MasturbatingBear did, then it's completely justified.
MasturbatingBear said:
"The problem is my writing was good and useful, so he didn't need to re-do it, also he is just trying to gain more points..."So, just because you believe your own writing was acceptable, means that everyone else will find it acceptable? That's not how it works.
"Jayge said:Where did your assumption that I'm "just trying to gain more points" come from?"MasturbatingBear said:The problem is my writing was good and useful, so he didn't need to re-do it, also he is just trying to gain more points...""what? "The problem is my writing was good and useful, so he didn't need to re-do it, also he is just trying to gain more points..."The problem is that *you* see your writing as good and useful, but in all likelihood it had a lot of room for improvement, as StarFoxA pointed out. You're accusing him of having motives that (I'm pretty sure) don't exist. Nobody cares about points (beyond passive "hmm... I have this many!") beyond 5,000.
