I'm a PoP apathist, and continue to be so, especially since IGN rated Fallout 3 a 9.6.

Interesting. I lost interest after Sands of Time but a reboot sounds promising.

I have never really gotten into the PoP series (I'm still trying to get through Sands of Time), but I am going to try this game solely on the fact that I think the game looks beautiful. I love the art style and I hope to see it used in more games...though I still don't like the design of the new prince.

No problem.

From the review:

In every console generation there are one or two games that, regardless of any flaws, hold tight in my memory even years later. I can still picture scenes from Chrono Trigger on the Super Nintendo System as if I just played it the other day. Despite a flurry of great games released in the past year, I still get the itch from time to time to play Jet Set Radio Future on the Dreamcast. Your beloved games may be different, but I’m certain most long-time gamers have a few titles they treasure – the games they can never trade in. Ubisoft’s relaunch of Prince of Persia may just be such a game for me from this generation.

Wow, that's a positive review.  I loved the old-school PC Prince of Persia, but never played the last-gen ones.  I'll pick this one up when it drops in price.

Justify a rent then :P yeah a single player only game like this I would just say rent and beat it, so you can at least get to play it. I would never buy a single player game alone with no real replay value, not anymore, no matter how good it is, but this is definitely a gamefly for me.

pretty much my feelings... I was psyched for warrior within and it kinda blew... never bothered with the third installment.  This game looks to reboot and throwback to the emphasis on cool room design and less on the WW fighting crap.

Eight hours is if you do the bare minimum and don't explore at ALL. And it's probably more difficult then that guy said. Prince of Persia is difficult for people unless you're professional... Like me =P

I loved Sands of Time and the new art style looks terrific. I need to work on a rent deal like pause said, so I can enjoy the game. My wallet has cobwebs in it.

Just read the review, its looking really good. I can deal with the whole "assist" thingy, besides, the graphics sold me on this game.
Regarding the time, considering that a trophy is awarded for finishing it in under 12 hours, I guess that for guys like me, that explore and sometimes stay put watching at the scenery, its going to be a lot more of playtime.

I knew Prince of Persia  would end the game flood of 2008 with gracefulness . as a die hard fan who have played all the prince of Persia games from the 2D Mobile games to sands of time trilogy and XBLA P.O.P I can but be happy about this wonderful game .

@ Liquid Prince : thanks for informing us about this review , I appreciate it , also I should say that your Avatar is super awesome

Well, Assassin's Creed Altair is a skin you can use in the game, so I'm pretty well sold, considering I like these third-person free-running titles.

Hope they get out a demo of this. After being kinda underwhelmed by the last trilogy and being utterly disappointed by Assassin's Creed, I'm gonna need some more coaxing than an IGN review to make me consider buying this.

Dunno if they'll release a demo or not, I'd say though this game, even if it does't live up to your expectations, is at least worth the money for you to rent it and try it out Its only an 8-9 hour game, so you would easily get your money worth on that rental.

Oh I'd totally rent it If there was any places around here that rented out games :(
It looks impressive, I must say. It's just Ubisoft Montreal's track record hasn't gripped me lately.

In the video review, Goldstein says it's a modified version of the Assassin's Creed engine. And yes, the art style is pretty amazing. I just wish we could die! :( Stupid casual game mechanics.

But you CAN die... It just doesn't force you to a stupid RETRY screen and make you wait while it loads all over again.

Yeah, it's possible to die.  The player almost has to put effort into doing it, though.

Not really. If you listen to the Three Red Lights podcast, it's easy to see why Goldstein is a hilarious commentator but a terrible reviewer and journalist. He just gets way too caught up in the whirlwind. Like someone discovering the more core "scene" for almost the first time, he still slobbers all over titles and goes completely nuts for things like a rookie. I would almost say that he isn't jaded enough, but jaded isn't the right personality type for something like game reviewing either. It's not hard to buy Hilary off in terms of getting a good or great review- you just have to hype it enough to the public and the media and someone like him will go batshit insane.
