The TL:DR is that they owe me $500 for a product that they have never produced after THREE years of waiting (the Jacob Frye statue). They agreed to refund me in September, last year - since then I've heard nothing despite multiple attempts to contact them through all possible means. This is partially written out of pure frustration, partially because I'd love some advice if anyone can offer any,

The longer version is more detail as to why you should never, ever trust this company with a penny of your money:

I ordered Project Triforce’s $500 Jacob Frye statue on the 10th of August 2015. In November 2015, after placing the order I sent emails to set up with their ‘Tripay' plan to pay for it in instalments, as they had never contacted me about payments - and was fully paid up by April 2016.

In September 2016, a year after ordering and after receiving literally no information or updates since setting up the payments in November the year before - I sent an email asking to cancel as I was so unimpressed with their lack of communication. They got back to me, told me a refund was impossible (which I only later discovered was completely untrue by their own T&C's) and so left things as they were and would wait until their newly pushed ship date of March 2017 for the statue.

In August 2017, after almost another full year of no contact with Triforce, and about half a year after the previously promised ship time, I emailed them again to try and find out what the hell was going on with them. They had now had my money for about two years, had never once reached out to me unless I pestered them, and still had no statue to show for it. This time I was told that the product would be shipping out 'next month', which would have been September 2017. It still hasn’t shipped to anyone from what I can tell.

I was honestly so frustrated I just wanted to cancel, and in the meantime I had reread the paperwork which explicitly said I was entitled to a refund. During this exchange they said I actually owed THEM another $150 but would comp me it as 'goodwill'! Needless to say I was furious, as sometime between me placing the order two years prior, and these latest emails, they changed the price from $500 to $650, and expected I would pay the new price. I had to send them my original receipt to prove that they were increasing the price after the sale, while trying to tell me that they were generously not going to charge me!

Eventually, on 21st August 2017 they agreed to a full refund, and asked me to allow 30-90 days for everything to clear. Unsurprisingly, since then I’ve had no refund, and perhaps more worryingly - no communication AT ALL, in spite of the aforementioned multiple attempts at contact.

I know that this is quite long and involved, so I appreciate you taking the time to read through it - I have every email, the receipts, and payment agreements all saved and can post them (with certain bits redacted!) if you would like to verify any part of this. If any of you have any idea as to anything else I can do, I'd greatly appreciate it, I'm just trying to raise awareness as to how scummy this company is.

Cheers Duders.

What country do you live in? I know the UK takes consumer protection very seriously and have people you can talk to about this. Not so sure about the US.

Damn that sucks. Thanks for the warning though.

I hope you'll find a way to force them to refund you.

You're probably well within small claims court territory, otherwise I wouldn't count on seeing your money or the product unfortunately.

Thank you all for the replies, and sorry for taking so long to get back to you. To generally reply to all of you, I'm based in the UK so I will be getting in touch with Citizen's Advice who can apparently refer me on to different resources for this sort of thing.

I'm also going to be trying to publicly call them out as much as possible, send a version of this post to different news sites, and just try and raise any awareness about how bad they are - everything seems to have gone dark though for about three months, so we'll see how far it gets me...

Seriously though, thanks again for all the replies :)

First, looking at their website it says that item is sold out. Not sure how you never received it if you paid for it.

Second, holy shit, don't spend good money on bullshit like that.

@retrometal: It's been 'sold out' for over a year, I've checked forums and for reviews, and... nothing. As for the spending, yeah, that was a very different phase of life!

You can probably just get the bank to take the money back instead of putting up with their bollocks.
