PS3 controllers on Steam.

I'm trying to use my PS3 controller with my Steam games. I'm using a macbook air, I already connected the controller through bluetooth and the system recognized it. But, when I try to play games the buttons don't work properly only the analogue stick has the proper function. I realize not all games have the gamepad function. How am I supposed to map it? Is there a setting or certain guide I should follow? Any help from you duders would be very much appreciated!

See if there's a Mac version of Motioninjoy, a PC driver for the PS3 controller that includes a 360 controller emulator. Motioninjoy is a terrible program, but this part of it usually works without issue.

As for Motioninjoy, oh man, is it terrible, but if you somehow set it up correctly it works! Just be sure to close the program when you're done using the controller, as it has a tendency to leak memory fast.
