@lefishzz: Yes you can and probably should if you see dust accumulating. Most any graphics cards can have the shroud removed.
Remove silver (top) part of GTX 690?

@lefishzz: I think that's a Torx screwdriver?
That's what mine required (GTX 560 Ti) so I would guess they stuck with it. I also looked up this pic and that's what it looks like to me.
But yeah it should just be a manner of removing those screws and popping it off the top. You won't have to dig into the stuff underneath most likely.

This may help for some reference? Maybe try googling/youtubing in regards to installing the custom cooling since that's probably the main reason it's usually pulled off.
If you could, please post your results back here, I'm curious to know how it goes since my own 690 probably could use the same treatment.
@rowr Cheers for the link. I'll post my results tomorrow. Just bought two of these: http://www.ebuyer.com/579804-v7-air-duster-400ml-vcl1270

How did it go?

One more just to see if your still around. Mines dusted up pretty bad due to having a broken ankle for a while and not being able to keep up with dust maintenance.
Getting like 10 degrees Celsius more on average on one core in particular is the difference between hitting 80 degrees or not overclocked in metro last light, so yeh I might need to pull this thing apart.
