I recently got an extra TV and I've been running an HDMI cable from my laptop to the new TV. The TV supports 1080p and from what I can tell its 16x9 (not a weird 16x10 ratio or anything). When I play certain PC games on the TV and set the resolution to 1080p I'm getting a weird issue where the edges of the screen are being cut off.

Most notably when I played Just Cause 2, a decent portion of my HUD was cut off-screen. When I played Gone Home, certain pop-up text was partially cut off as well.

Has anyone else had this issue?

Its called overscan. It happens to a lot of tvs. You should check your TV settings for overscan/aspect settings. I also had problems and just a few days ago I figured out my stupid tv after 2-3 years of use on a shitty resolution. Under the aspect options it had 16:9, 4:3 and last one was called Just Scan. So yeah, even my shitty bootleg tv has it.

If you cant find anything in your TV settings try messing with the ati/nvidia software on pc, and look there for overscan settings. Might not look perfect but you can 100% make it fit into the screen.
