Catherine. It was probably the most impactful and "controversial" review on Giant Bomb this year. I'd be surprised if that isn't the review with the most comments, as well. I was also surprised at how much I cared that it had received 2 stars and it still stuns me a bit when I go to Metacritic and I see that Giant Bomb's is the lowest score with a MC of 40, the only red score.
Brad and Ryan are easily the best review writers on the staff, and yet three of the five reviews are from Jeff. This just screams popularity contest to me. I'm sure if Vinny reviewed a game this year, it'd win by a landslide.
The review that really sticks out in my mind is Brad's LA Noire review. It helped convinced me to get it after initially being apprehensive (loved the game), and considering the backlash the game experienced in later months, going back and reading the review now really helps put the whole thing into perspective. Brad doesn't get anywhere near enough credit for the quality of his reviews. For that matter neither does Ryan, and his Assassin's Creed Revelations or Child of Eden reviews easily could have won this as well.
I still don't understand this category. What are we judging this by?
Which review was the most useful to me?
Which review I felt was the most honest?
Which review exposed me to a game I may have overlooked?
Which review helped me to avoid a bad game?
Which review was the best written?
Which review covered the most interesting points?
Which review was the most entertaining to read?
All of these are different for me.

Judge it by what ever standard you use to judge things. You are way overcomplicating it.

No I'm not. Its a simple question- "What do you mean by 'best' review"? Your category makes no sense.
