Reviving a dead thread, is it okay?

I ask this because I'm playing through some older Wii games now I have a Gamecube and Classic controller. Currently I'm playing through the Fantastic Goldeneye 007, and I wanted to put my thoughts down in the forum for any other potential late comer to have another, more recent view of the game which may edge them towards giving it a try.

So onto the forums I went to see a thread talking about what I wanted to discuss, but 'died' 8 months ago. Now I don't want to make a new topic or a needless blog post when the same thread is on the forum home page. Obviously the point of a forum is to discuss games you like and dislike, but I know there is a tendency to get in trouble for reviving old threads on forums.

So I was just wondering if it was okay for me to revive 'dead' threads in the hope I could A) get a new discussion going and B) offer another opinion?

I don't see a problem with it, as long as you're not going crazy with it. Some people get all butthurt over it, though.

Practice of Necromancy is forbidden by law around these parts, as far as I know. If you were to meddle is such things, do it in secrecy.

As long as the thread is still relevant, and you have something to add to the thread, then it's fine.

It's not something I want to make a habit of, reviving dead threads, but knowing its not against forum policy is good, Thank you for the quick replies! Much appreciated
