Joystiq posted an article on a tease from the Episodes From Liberty City manual.
People say that might be a new city but after seeing the desert part from the Weazel News trailer, it's probably a subtle announcement that Red Dead Redemption is coming in March. An interesting thing was the use of colors which can probably signify that Max Payne 3 is coming in March as well. They are might be saying that anything Grand Theft Auto IV is done and everyone should expect the other games coming next year.
What are your thoughts?
Rockstar's "next stop?!"
I'm hoping they show us something that hasn't really been done before. Miami has been done in Vice City/Scarface/a third game, New York has been done to death, and Asia has been done in Shenmue/Yakuza. I'd like to see Grand Theft Moped: Raid on Paris :P.
I don't get why people are saying it says "Next Stop... Seagull" That's just stupid. It's obviously saying "Next stop... [picture]".
Well, the series has stopped in the northeast, southeast, and southwest, so maybe it's time for them to visit the Emerald City? The seagull sign would fit there. I can see it now:
- A Ricky Hendrix statue
- Drive your bike through Pine Place Market to get to the water
- A new focus on boats as you take them to move between islands in the Columbus Sound.
- Take your girlfriend on dates to the Galaxy Scraper, along with the sports stadiums downtown
- Get involved in the infamous drug traffic and build tunnels under the border between the US and Canada
- Meet lots of hot asians
- Make getaways through the trees
- Participate in Hydroplane races
" @Abyssfull said:" So hoping for GTA V to show us a next generation San Andreas. "Fixed. "
How is that ''fixed''? I'd prefer to see Vice City dipped in 2010+ quality than San Andreas no question.
Fixed for you maybe, though dunno why you had to quote me to state what you'd prefer.
Jamaica... or rather "Jamrock" as Jacob called it after a helicopter mission in GTA4 where he mentions he and Niko should go. This is based on the colors and previous speculation over on gtaforums, and also the Seagull part. It's unclear what it says above Seagull. But it's been mentioned on gtaforums that Seagull Theatre is a famous(?) London venue, and the ad looks like it's intended to be for a musical.
San Andreas and Vice City are all but ruled out. I think it'll be a little while before those waters are directly retreaded. I could see a large Carribean area with both Jamaica and the southern tip of Florida for a slight VC return.
"So hoping for GTA V to show us a next generation Vice City. "
I'd like to see a next gen Vice City as part of a bigger landscape. I always thought VC was a little small.

I have to agree,Vice City > San Andreas.
But I think GTA4 is the best in series by far and we don't need another GTA yet.
" Interesting...I would love to see a return to either Vice City or San Andreas. A new city would be sweet too. Hey, AgentJ's idea above has got me interested; give that a go Rockstar! "Good to know I'm not the only one that thinks so :P
I wonder if other people have some good ideas of future locations.

"
- First nerd main character in the GTA series, gets to go to the SAX *Sexy (boothgirl) Ass Expo
- Do hits on Japando's CEO's at the behest of Macrosoft CEO Steve Jobs
There's a lot of speculation over on gtaforums. In fact here's a retouched version of the pic aped from there." @RHCPfan24 said:

Many think it's part of a map, which I absolutely do not. Also the colors are off.

This. but what is possible is that they show it off (or announce it) at next years E3 and it will be here by winter 2010 or Spring 2011. I just really want a new vice city
Some sort of date, just so I could crop the pic to the last panel. Why? It's awesome. It does not fucking suck :P.
Fine, it's going to be November 3rd 2010" @AgentJ: Some sort of date, just so I could crop the pic to the last panel. Why? It's awesome. It does not fucking suck :P. "
I'm starting to think that this ad is for DLC for GTA 4, but "Grand Theft Auto: Columbus Sound" will come out in late 2010. Another aspect of the game:
- Get involved in the tribal casino scene
@ThePhantomnaut: It's shaped like New York... but the original image is torn and probably has nothing to do with the shape.

And there has been PLENTY of time for the lead world designer, Aaron Garbut and rest of the art team to craft a new landform. The content in EFLC didn't employ the talents of that part of the team and they sure haven't been doing nothing this whole time.
Looks like woods and a mountain with colors that vaguely reminds me of the Brazillian flags. Probably RDR and Max Payne 3.
Red Dead Redemption. Although a new IP or a new installment in the GTA series would be super welcome, too.
No, they didn't as far as I know, but the whole thing is made to look like a theater pamphlet/announcement poster. Plus, GTA has been in London before, so it's not something illogical. However, your theories are good as well." @jakob187 said:
Did they use the actual names of any locations in past GTA games? I can't remember a case where they did. "" Just the fact that it has the Seagull Theater watermark at the bottom right tells me "London". Honestly, they seriously need to revisit London. "
Then again, the Seagull Theatre could've been a place inside Liberty City. I haven't played much of GTA IV, so fucked if I know. It may be an announcement from The Seagull Theatre in Liberty City saying "hey, it's done, we're going somewhere else". If so, I would really love for it to be in London. Unfortunately, those colors just don't scream "London" to me.
As for Max Payne 3, they've changed their page to saying "Coming Soon" (despite the fact that it still says Winter 2009 on the browser header). Red Dead Redemption is set for, what, Q2 2010? Well, they could easily push MP3 back, or bring RDR up some. Personally, I think they should push Max Payne 3 back to holiday 2010 for a good IP to have at that time, while bringing RDR something right before the summer. How far along in development they are, however, makes that decision.
Then again, no one has mentioned the possibility that this is an announcement for Bully 2. = /
Speaking of which, they went through the trouble of setting up a possible 1970's setting for Liberty City with Gamberellis/Gambettis and the McRearys. I don't think we've seen the very end of LC episodes." They should take it back into the 1950's and the setting should be in los angeles like l.a noire "
"@Abyssfull said:"So hoping for GTA V to show us a next generation Vice City. "I'd like to see a next gen Vice City as part of a bigger landscape. I always thought VC was a little small. "
Yeah that goes without saying, I mean like how larger they made the GTAIII era Liberty City...well infact it was completely redesigned more or less =P so I guess if Vice City was an upcoming setting for a GTA game it probably won't be so recognisable. Especially if its in modern day to which we've only see it shine through the 80s.
" So hoping for GTA V to show us a next generation Vice City. "Holy shit, yes, yes, yes, yes, and more yes!!!!! Did I mention YES? Because dude, YESSSS. That would own.
You know what? I dont really like GTA that much.
I'd love to see something from these super talented developers. Maybe thats what this is pointing towards? A change of page so to speak?

Everyone forgot about "Agent" already, huh?
For GTA, I hope they bring back the feel of traveling between cities like in San Andreas. The game had so many different settings and atmospheres because of this.
I also hope they ditch the disconnect between it's gameplay and it's characterization.
More crazy: Rampages, Chainsaws, Flamethrowers, Spawning guns at safe houses.
Less 'Realism': "I don't want to kill people" *kills 1,000 people*.
Less Bowling, Pool, Dancing, and Dating. (Dating sucked in San Andreas too.)

" @AgentJ said:I don't know, did you consider the new focus on motorcycles in Lost and Damned "not having fun"? It's Rockstar. They'd make it great"So a new focus on not having fun? ""
- A new focus on boats as you take them to move between islands in the Columbus Sound.
