Saints Row 3 or Modern Warfare 3?

Seem like an unfair comparison (3rd person action sandbox versus 1st person military shooter) but I went with SR as I prefer 3rd person action to FPS

My friend and I had been wondering what would be more fun for a 2 man team. We play every competitive shooter that comes out, but a while ago, we both played through Dead Rising 2 together, and while we both agreed that game was a little weird with the time keeping mechanic, we also agreed it was one the most fun and insane cooperative experiences we had ever had. We had been wondering to ourselves which would be a better experience to play together, Modern Warfare 3(Yes, I know I screwed up the poll number, but you know which game I mean) which has both a cooperative mode and a competitive environment, or Saints Row 3 which seems like it would be another zany experience like Dead Rising 2 was.

We'll play both, but I was wondering what the community thought was better for playing with a friend. Would you rather play a more team work focused shooter, or an insanely stupid open world sandbox game?

Saints Row 3 seems like the best thing ever so get that.

Totally different games, and I'm liking MW3 a lot right now, but there's no doubt in my mind Saint's Row 3 will be more fun for me

@Arker101: I've rarely had as much fun gaming with the gang as when playing games like GTA IV, doing stupid shit. Open world games, especially ones that embrace the ridiculous, are awesome because there will ALWAYS be some crazy thing that happens that you can talk about for the next week. SR3 seems like it'd be more delightfully awesome for just pure fun with a buddy.

@MordeaniisChaos: Yeah, we had come to that conclusion as well. The only thing that's missing is more then 2 player Co-Op. that game would be insanerer with 2 more dudes, and I don't think it would lessen the experience at all, whereas 4-player Co-Op would hurt a more story based game, where having friends playing with you takes you out of the immersion.

Saints Row, yo

I voted for Saints Row 3, not because I've played it, but because I won't be able to enjoy MW3 after I beat the campaign. My friends don't play online games and I couldn't care less about multiplayer. Saints Row 3 seems to be the best bang for my buck, though I'm really enjoying MW3's SP campaign.

Seriously, if you want to play Modern Warfare co-op, pick up the second one on the cheap. If you want to play something new and original, pick up Saints Row the Third.
