@roomrunner: No it's exclusively because when they speak they speak in Spanish (or Portuguese?); from that the surpassing intellect of the stream viewers deduced that they must be "mexican" for as we all know Mexico is the only place where Spanish is spoken.
SaltyBet's Dream Cast Casino Thread
Damn, I thought Neco Chaos was one of the worst characters around, so I went all in on the opposing character I hadn't seen before. Turned out Dark Ash was even shittier.
Neco Chaos is one of the lower-tier Melty Blood characters, but there's a reason why Dark Ash is called "Dark Ass" or "Dark Trash."
I'll pray for your soul, homie.
So what are you're usernames so I can spot you guys in the chat?
I got hooked on saltybet 2-3 weeks ago, I don't know what it is about it, I just cannot stop betting.
I am at 130K now and I just want to keep going :).
Edit: My username is LienLost.
Went from a high of 1360 to nothing after a few bad bets. Think I may be done.
Any advice how to get out of the mines? I all in for an upset, but it always comes back to bite me.
Went from a high of 1360 back down to nothing after some poor bets. Think I might be done.
Any advice how to get back where I was? I've tried going all in for the underdog until I get a good result, but it's difficult to make the same call once you have a little more money, especially as one wrong move means you end up right where you started.
Honestly, I went Illuminati and went all in from there, before I could say "upset" I was at 20K.
It is doable without Illuminati, but it takes time.

I don't particularly like the idea of stealth updates to characters. Plus I kind of enjoyed Nail and his broken hitbox. It doesn't make sense to me to fix characters that are broken in that sense if you're still going to keep the other varieties of broken characters around (nigh-infinite health, one-hit KOs, barely being able to be hit, etc.). We all know Nail is broken, and the fact that there are such goddamn abominations of creations in the game is part of what makes it amusing. I'm of the firm belief that a character should only be removed or altered if he is outright game-breaking, as a few have been.
I dunno. It just strikes me as a weird and fairly arbitrary decision, especially after Salty was having such fun with people's incessant complaining after Nail's performance in the tournament.
This is by far the worst tournament so far; Cless beat Doom with a new mexi-super which was mildly interesting; but dead aside from that. Doom had the best chance at beating Dark Phoenix. Tournament last week sucked as well aside from the semi finals.
Warachia's AI randomly got better (Kohaku vs Shuma style); huzzah. Pocket Felicia still a hype killer though. Kaede Hioh vs Sonson still the only good match.
http://challonge.com/SC256P6 Can't make this stuff up, one good match, one 5-3 won by mexican damage; 3 5-2's, and all the rest 5-1 or 5-0
@fluxwavez: Well argued sir. I'll give you last week was a lot better than this week, but it's still the 3rd worst overall behind this one and the nail tourney (nail still not worse since there were some pretty interesting matches)
Aleti beats Ronald because of the mexidamage Super which is kind of uninteresting; but anyone that puts Ronald in menu dodge mode is okay in my book; since that shit is hilarious.
@fluxwavez: Well argued sir.
What's well argued? If you mean my enjoyment of the tournament, I'm not going to give supporting arguments as to why I enjoyed this one and the last. I just did.
@fluxwavez: Well in general just posting something like "I liked this" or "I enjoyed this" without any supporting information is like saying "the sky is blue" or something equally meaningless. A consensus of people saying "I liked this" or "BOOOOOOOOOOO" is useful but on the individual level if you want to generate discussion or inform others there has to be something more to it. Similarly saying "I don't like this" is also useless when delivered piecemeal. I realize you have 20,000 posts and some of them are going to be dead in the water by default but effort is nice. Doom and Dark Phoenix lost and that was unexpected but neither match was supremely interesting except for the 1 1% round Warachia comeback (but it ultimately didn't matter); almost every interesting character lost early on except for Anakaris and Kaede Hioh.
I disagree. This week's tournament and last week's was a blast.
Well, except for the latter Felicia matches when it was apparent that something's up with her ala Nail.
Edit: Aleti vs. Ronald is an incredible match-up.
Only thing wrong with Felicia's hitbox is that she's invincible during her pinwheel.
Uranus' grabs won't hit her because she's so short, is all. Everyone in Sailor Moon has Bayonetta proportions.
@fredchuckdave: Nah, I don't think every post someone makes designed to state an opinion has to have a bunch of arguments backing it up when it's purely subjective. There were a lot of close matches and they were fun to watch. That is all, and that's why I enjoyed it.
And bringing post count up as some kind of argument is pretty stupid. Then again, you've admitted that you're a troll and, like I've always said, no one should ever take what you have to say seriously.

Aside from her parrying everything (like surviving several seconds against the Rare Akuma and Dark Donald team), size has nothing to do with her being able to not get command grabbed (since characters as small as Change Dragon have been command grabbed multiple times before). Either she parries the grab or something else is up. Apparently, she has some additional invulnerable frames after the grab so some of that could be why she's so powerful.
Salty got me back on board once I heard Melty Blood/Anarchy Reigns songs back to back, but once Possessed Heita (among others) started looking shady, my motivation to keep up with the stream dipped. How the hell am I supposed to fall in love with Heita if he's not bouncing people off walls and doing crazy supers? Ghetto Warmachine isn't the greatest of characters, but getting 3-0'd by a Cyberbot? Whaaaaaaaaaat?
This new generation of Salty Combatants can eat a dick (Except Gregor).
Aw man, I missed Dark Donald being brought into rotation? And a fight against Rare Akuma? I need a time machine.
I don't know if anyone is still into this, but tonight's Shaker Classic tournament is all request matches, and should be mostly super dumb, entertaining fights.
So apparently SaltyBet has some competition!
Someone has made a "SaltyBet clone" called SaltyTime, it differentiates itself by matchmaking characters of similar strength for closer matches. It uses Twitch's account system, so no separate login/password needed.
